DISAPPOINTMENTS
Disappointments come to all of us; and the more I see of life, the more convinced I am that one of the most important lessons anyone can learn is how to handle these disappointments. One of the great disappointments in my youth happened during my sophomore year in high school when I was running for class president. The class elected a cute brunette cheerleader. Another popular girl, another of the cheerleaders, came in second. And I trailed the field with only four votes. That was quite a blow to a cocky young boy to be defeated by not one, but two good looking cheerleaders. I felt that all my friends had deserted me. It is sometimes hard to see God's hand in things. We may not understand why things happen the way they do. But God has a way of working through things, and fashioning our disappointments into something worthwhile. The girl who defeated me in the class election later became my wife! Prayer: O God, make us aware of your presence day by day. Help us be assured that all our disappointments can be turned over to you, and our lives can be strengthened and renewed. Amen. LT Kermit Holl, CHC, USNR

Extra prayers for Israel...

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Howdy, Kathy.
Wouldn’t you know it. The weekend arrives and there isn’t much sunshine up there.
Sunny and a bit warm here but not too uncomfortable.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

Yes, got caught up Wed. and it was a relief to be able to do it. Now the place doesn’t look like abandoned property. LOL
Is new grass growing where you had a tree taken out? The rain you got a couple of days ago should have helped a lot.

Not much in the way of sunshine for sure. Dull and boring outside.
Glad you are getting some heat relief.

The Sound Of Silence Military Tribute
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOMrOKHMMPU
As a combat veteran, I am very aware of the feelings expressed in each and every one of these photos...a tribute to all my brothers and sisters who have served and the toll it takes - put to haunting rendition of The Sounds of Silence by Disturbed.
Check some of the 3,500 comments below the video.
“My husband is soldier in heaven thank you for your service i love you never forget ever beautiful song 😢”
“As a former military person, I still struggle with the concept that our youth today do not understand the struggles of a person coping with the horrors we saw and still deal with today after many years after the fact, we have seen and for the most part lived through, be thankful of the life you can now live and just maybe think back on what it cost !!!❤❤”
“I’m a 73 year old U.S. Navy Corpsman. I served half my time with the 1st Marines. This is the second time I’ve cried since my service. To all my brothers and sisters I ask God to Bless you for your sacrifice. Semper Fi.”
