I cook and enjoy traditional Rajisthan currie.
BUt why remove a cultural choice from my own culture.
I reckon you have never had the best, not curried:

It wasn’t all bad. King George VI was viewed as a national symbol during WWII and obviously we know all about the British determination to fight the Nazis.
George’s Brother sure didn’t share that determination.
Easy to say that because we are Americans.
We cannot say that our form of government will work for everyone else.
We went into Iraq and we decided to overthrow Saddam Hussein. That part was a success, obviously.
But it's likely that they will eventually have another strongman like Saddam after their current experiment with democracy fails.
The point is that each country in the world will have to figure out what meets its needs, based on its history, culture, religion, and political institutions.
“”””Britain has moved away from bland food. Something we did too. “””””
I don’t know that authentic American food was bland, those of us old enough to have seen how the old women born from say, 1870-1910 cooked, miss the incredible flavor of everything they made, even the green beans were a beautiful dish of long cooked buttery/bacony flavor, and fantastic desserts of cakes and pies, gravies, biscuits and breads their food was nothing like the simulated American foods of a “traditional” restaurant, or buffet or fried chicken place of today.
Hell
Where the food is British
The cars are French
The police are Germany
The lovers are Swiss
And the whole thing is run by Italians
Only if “our” means the same females and oddballs who follow the Kardashians and Taylor Swift.
The fascination with British royalty applies to types, not to Americans in general.
I respected the Queen.
Others? They are spoiled Elitists. They think they are above the people they are supposed to rule.
Let’s see if Charles changes his name to King Mohammed.
I agree.
Big surprise, huh?
It depends on what you consider “authentic”. Really I’m talking about the mass produced, then restaurant produced, food from basically 1950 to 1990-5 ish. That food all sucked.
Because people don’t like it. Capitalism has simple math: if it sells it will be sold, if it doesn’t sell it won’t be made. If plain ol fish and chips ain’t selling...
Easy to say that because it’s painfully obvious. Hereditary power exists for the sole purpose keeping everybody else in line. I’m not saying our form of government will work for anybody else. I’m simply pointing out that royalty is always tyranny and is always bad. The fact that it survived to the 20th century should be embarrassing to all mankind. 21st century?! Holy geeze we just don’t learn. End all royalty!
That it did, much of that post WWII public food experimentation was driven by new technologies and innovations and manufacturing capabilities, even new lifestyles and products, better fridges, better freezing and canning, a sense of being an advanced society in a world of missiles, and the atom, and probably a lot of advertising as food companies had to switch from supplying a giant army to stirring up housewives to try their mass produced products.
Nothing beats a lettuce/Jello mold salad, or baked Spam loaf.
Regarding the UK, it's not Absolute Monarchy. They have Constitutional Monarchy.
So if they are being tyrannical, take it up with the Parliament.
Sure the tyrants are now figureheads. Grossly expensive figureheads that contribute absolutely nothing to their society. END THEM. Nothing good comes from royalty. If they’re in charge they’re tyrants, if they’re not in charge they’re very expensive pensioners. They only take, all royal families should have been on the ash heap of history over a hundred years ago. End them all.
That's the American perspective.
I would prefer the Saudi Royal Family in charge than Islamists (Wahhabists) taking power in Saudi Arabia.
You can find many chippie shops. The curries are nice Angkic8zed with the chicken tikka masala originating in the UK
“ I find it fascinating that the American public has such high regard for the British monarchy. Didn’t we once fight a war to rid ourselves of such trash??”

We’re fine with the inbreds running England, that’s about it.
No. That’s reality. The Saudi royal family IS in charge. Who do you think funds the wahhabists. Royalty = evil. Always.
