The Capitol Hill battle over Jeffrey Epstein is poised to heat up when Congress returns to Washington next month.
While GOP leaders left town early to avoid the radioactive issue, the conspiracy-ridden saga is set to ramp back up come September for a number of reasons.
A bipartisan pair of lawmakers have vowed to force a vote on their resolution requiring the administration to release the federal files it’s withholding and plan to bring survivors of Epstein’s abuse to Capitol Hill in the first days of Congress’s return.
Separately, a number of court cases surrounding the fate of those files could reach a resolution in the coming weeks.
The House Rules Committee, which was brought to a standstill in July over Democratic efforts to force votes on the Epstein affair, will likely be compelled to revisit the issue if Republicans want to move any piece of their legislative agenda next month.
And bipartisan motions in the House Oversight and Government Committee that forced Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) to issue a flurry of subpoenas related to the Epstein matter could reignite public interest in the saga.
All of this is likely to create new headaches for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his leadership team, who want to move beyond fights over Epstein when they return to Washington to face another tough task — funding the government to avoid an Oct. 1 shutdown.
“I don’t think it’s going to go away,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said of the Epstein issue. “Maybe our leadership thinks that sticking their head in the sand and running out of town was the right decision. … Once we go back into session, I think this picks up where it left off.”
Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) are fighting to make sure that happens.

Just more resistance by the TDS crowd. Along with go to court to try to block anything, this is a move to styme Congress. Be aware, the move to get whatever info there is, is not a move to prosecute anyone. It is a move to link Trump to Epstein. Next step, must impeach.

All the “ladies of the night” have been paid their “pound of flesh”. Can’t imagine the lies they told to get their $850,000.00 (avg).....like...Oh, it was so terrible and that’s why I went back for more....and it paid well, too.
Dick Durbin blocked the release two years ago.

That was 14 years BEFORE Epstein was indicted.
Trump flew from Palm Beach to New York City on the Epstein Jet eight times, over a four year period, that ended in 1997.
That was 9 years BEFORE Epstein was indicted.
The number of women who have claimed to have had sex on the Epstein jet - ZERO.
But now it is all about releasing them😂

Actually, no. DOJ/FBI/CIA have the information. They can release it and not play games, like asking courts to release GJ testimony that they know is not going to be released. They all ran, including Trump, on the Deep State Theory. Epstein is part of the the Deep State Theory. Either Epstein is a lone perv, had US deep state ties (Acosta), was involved with Israel in a nefarious manner (doubtful to me), roped in fellow pervs (of a high profile nature) and/or blackmailed fellow pervs. These are easily answered questions - that’s why Blondi said she had her hands on all the information. DOJ/Admin is playing games. It is more or less like Obama and his birth certificate. After all of Clinton’s harassment, really Trumps harassment, he finally acquiesced.
Multiple surveillance cameras in multiple bedrooms and no video tapes? Epstein compromised enough people on either side of the aisle that neither party would expose the other without destroying themselves. Mutual assured destruction.
