Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has once again joined a coalition of other attorneys general in suing the Trump administration over new rules that could bar immigrants without legal status from health and education programs.
The suit, announced Monday, seeks to stop a series of orders from federal agencies that would block people from the early childhood education program Head Start, Title X family planning, adult education, mental health care and community health centers based on immigration status.

US Taxpayers are not a Charity
This suit is unnecessary. They assured us that illegal immigrants were not receiving public benefits so there should be no one impacted by the block.

What is the basis for a state lawsuit demanding Federal aid? Is this based on Congressional law, or what.
My understanding is that the Federal government provides federal aid, and can put reasonable restrictions on that aid, such as requiring work for money. They can require citizenship as well.
What possible basis can a state have for demanding the federal government is required to provide financial aid to illegal aliens?

I don’t see the RATs push for illegals as much as “to get their vote” as to have them counted in the Census so the RATs don’t lose House seats.
It does raise the sticky issue of “no taxation without representation,” because illegals are still required to pay income tax. Otherwise, they should not count as residents.

On the same day that Pritzker signed a law that permitted property owners to remove squatters and trespassers on an expedited basis rather than evicting them like tenants the State of Illinois joined a suit to bar the Trump Administration from cutting off public benefits to illegal migrants.
Go figure.
These states see illegals as a way to just keep getting federal dollars—“because.”
Every illegal should have to pay back 100% of the monies given to them.
Legal immigrants are disallowed from received ANY government benefits for ten years. Sponsors even have to promise money to back this up.

Zero tax money should go to anyone in the country illegally.
Exception: an illegal in need of critical medical care should receive the medical treatment needed to stabilize their condition to the point where they can be deported back to their home country. Realistically, taxpayers would have to pay the medical bills and the deportation costs.
