David Paterson was the governor of New York from 2008 to 2010, when he was succeeded by Andrew Cuomo as the Democrats’ one-party rule of the state continued drearily on. Yet although he is another New York Democrat, Paterson is not thrilled with Zohran Mamdani, his fellow Democrat who stands on the brink of becoming the next mayor of New York City.
Yet when he criticized Mamdani, Paterson found to his dismay that not only was he inundated with angry phone calls from the young Communist’s supporters, but his family was targeted as well. And so once again we see the new feature the left is intent on introducing into American politics: intimidation.
Paterson said Sunday that after he said that either Andrew Cuomo or Eric Adams should drop out of the mayoral race so as to try to block Mamdani from winning, the reaction from those who see Mamdani as the Democrats’ new hope was swift and severe: “I got a whole lot of nasty, negative phone calls — really vitriolic — from Mamdani supporters,” Paterson recounted. The enraged Marxists “called my home. They called my wife. It was really kind of difficult for those 48 hours after the press conference.”
Paterson refuses to bow to intimidation, and restated his position: “If Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams both stay in the mayor’s race, it will be [an] open door for Zohran Mamdani to win the election in November for mayor. My proposal was that there be a way to make a decision [on] which of these two candidates should run against Mamdani.”
All three of these candidates are Democrats, although Cuomo and Adams are running as independents, as Mamdani is the official Democrat nominee.

So evil, it’s demonic.
I’m torn between hoping Mamdami is stopped and that he wins. Let’s say Cuomo or Adams wins after the other two non-communist candidates drop out. It seems inevitable that sooner or later Mamdami or someone just as bad will be elected NYC Mayor anyway. Maybe it’s better if it happens sooner.
Plus it could have some positive effects as there would be a continued exodus from NYC. A lot of those getting out of Dodge would land in red states, continuing the shift in Congressional seats.
Let’s hope that exodus doesn’t continue funneling the NYers to Florida. They bring their liberal policies with them, and this place is getting too crowded and it’s become increasingly more expensive to live here.
If Mamdani wins, this will be just the beginning of blatant bully tactics to shut up any criticism. What happened to the blind former governor, will be a catered picnic compared to what emboldened Muslims will do to intimidate and obstruct all who disagree. Don’t hold your breath waiting for Mamdani to criticize the harsh tactics of his supporters.
This same campaign formula will be repeated in all big urban cities across the land. This won’t be an isolated win
Think of what has happened to London, and many other British cities, a long list of Muslims Mayors shutting all others out
This is how the left operates. Commies suck, that’s why we hate them.
I'm hoping he makes the tunnels and bridges to NJ $100 each way and makes Arabic the official language in the city...
Correct.
Obviously.
For the record, David Paterson served as the 55th governor of New York, succeeding Eliot Spitzer, who resigned, and serving out nearly three years of Spitzer’s term from March 2008 to December 2010. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the first legally blind person to be sworn in as governor of a U.S. state, and the first African-American governor of New York.
In other words, a blind black man doesn’t have standing with Mamdani’s supporters.
Paterson getting standard response from labor union “soldiers.” He and his, now at the receiving end of what he has supported as a Democrat Party leader.
Intimidation - is what The Party and its nationalizing-socialists teach.
“…. A lot of those getting out of Dodge would land in red states…..”
….and bring their idiot democrat voting habit with them and rot the red states from within.
“They bring their liberal policies with them,”
Kindly explain how in spite of that, Florida has gotten redder, and New York has gotten bluer. Maybe the people leaving New York aren’t as liberal as you claim.
The Left is fascist, always has been, always will be. The irony is that most of the public has brought into Stalin‘s propaganda that the fascists and Nazis are “right-wing” when, in reality, they are just the other side of the coin from communism and socialism. All of these ideologies are collectivist in nature, and are unalterably opposed by the philosophy upon which this country was founded, which is individualism. All of the collectivists either outright deny the right of individuals to choose their path in life, or they only give lip service to it (IOW, they lie) in an effort to win support. The reality is that in collectivist ideologies, the individual means nothing and is regularly intimidated, beaten down, imprisoned, or just plain executed, as the tyrannical leadership of the collective may decide on a whim.
DeSantis’ margin was too close for comfort...
This just shows how far the New York Republican Party has fallen since Giuliani and yes, even Bloomberg. With due respect to Curtis, he is not a serious candidate. He's the GOP nominee because no one else wants the nomination. The only way one party state changes is if the NY GOP rebuilds itself, and that requires them to stop being comfortable going along to get along.

And here I thought the very definition of terrorism was
” violence/force , or threats of violence/force to effect political change ,”
Our rule of law has been infiltrated
and usurped.
New Yorkers will likely elect Mamdani who will swiftly destroy the city. Mamdani will become the face of the New Democratic Party along with AOC and Jasmine Crockett. I would hope this would rattle the traditional hard core blue collar Democrats and could doom the Democrats in the 2026 elections.
It seems that none of the other candidates has much support so that even if all but one of them dropped out, Mamdani would still be likely to win easily.
