Get $7,500 EV tax credit on their Inferior product
Ford has a HUGE battery plant on I-65 in Kentucky that is just now about to open up. I cannot imagine they have enough demand to justify the extreme capital investment, without government requiring EVs. Which is no longer the case under Trump. $6 billion this article says.
“Replacing an electric vehicle (EV) battery can cost between $5,000 and $20,000, depending on the make and model of the car. However, many EVs come with warranties that cover battery replacement for at least eight years or 100,000 miles, making actual replacement costs” (answer from AI on Google)
Last thing to consider is there are no minor fender bender accidents, an EV could be totaled in what normally considered a minor accident.
Why would anyone buy an EV is beyond me.
Show me the money.
I believe electric cars will be a huge part of the future, but not with the current crop of batteries.
Everyone is working on safe lighter batteries that charge faster and go much further. China is selling some already I think.
That’s why I wouldn’t buy electric yet.
Nothing wrong with hybrid, which is a way to get more mileage.
If you have to offer a $7500 tax credit to buy a product what does that tell you about it?
If he were smart Elon would be trying to sell Tesla. Toyota is getting ready to come out with a hydrogen driven vehicle. Actually multiple vehicles and also generators for your house, car or business.
The majority of Americans didnt want ev.
I love my old gas buggy...there are 6 gas stations in Town and it takes me less than 5 minutes to fill'r up.
That will finish them…unless they can drastically cut costs…a very ill conceived program from the beginning 💯🤬
Tesla is a great car and they offered some great deals. But see my post above. The current cars are going to be obsolete. When you see Toyota jump in more on full electric and new battery technology, the time will have arrived.
NJ offered EV incentives and now is adding taxes for EV’s because they aren’t collecting gas taxes. Government sucks.
Why would anyone buy an EV is beyond me.

I tend to agree with the exception of the
use in places where liquid fuel is a danger.
Wanna bet the prices drop $7500 after our tax dollars stop subsidizing the,?
Take a look at companies like Quantumscapes. I never hear anything about Elon planning to graduate to the new batteries that are being developed maybe it’s too early or maybe he’s just keeping it quiet but I can’t believe he doesn’t realize that he will not be selling cars with these giant heavy batteries five years from now. Maybe even 3 years from now.
A 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, was declared a total loss by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) after sustaining minor damage to its undercarriage battery pack. The damage consisted of a scratch and small deformation on the battery cover plate, which was enough to indicate an impact to the battery itself. This voided the vehicle's warranty, and the quoted cost to replace the battery was approximately $60,000—exceeding the car's actual cash value, leading ICBC to write off and scrap the low-mileage EV. The owners, who had purchased the car new, were shocked by the repair bill, noting it was higher than the price of a brand-new model.
I thought Tesla had already run out of the EV discounts.
A Model Y weighs 500lbs More than a 1960 Cadillac.
