The Clinton administration in 1996, singed into law the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA). In it was provisions for Expedited Removal:
The Act established expedited removal procedures, allowing immigration officials to deport certain individuals without a hearing before an immigration judge. These procedures primarily apply to individuals at the border or those who cannot prove continuous residence in the U.S. for at least two years.
Under IIRAIRA, expedited removal proceedings for aliens with aggravated felony charges are under the purview of the Attorney General who “shall provide for the initiation and, to the extent possible, the completion of removal proceedings, and any administrative appeals thereof, in the case of any alien convicted of an aggravated felony before the alien’s release from incarceration for the underlying aggravated felony”

Silly me.. I always thought actively doing something against the law was probable cause for arrest....And I always thought being here illegally was against the law...? Is this judge on bath salts or something, or is it me....
