SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly predicted Tuesday on her show that Attorney General Pam Bondi’s days in the Trump administration are “numbered” following public backlash over the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) new report on Jeffrey Epstein.
Axios reported Sunday that the DOJ and FBI released a two-page memo that concluded Epstein committed suicide in 2019 and left behind no “client list.” While discussing Republican criticism of the memo, a guest on “The Megyn Kelly Show” asked whether Bondi’s previous media comments are fueling the backlash.
“Just look at the influencer thing. Just take a step back,” Kelly said. “What kind of an attorney general would pretend she’s giving new information to some of the president’s most loyal advocates in the press? You know, buying ink by the barrel. So either Pam Bondi knew she was about to embarrass some of his most loyal surrogates out there, and did that willingly, or she didn’t take the time to make sure what was in those binders. She was too lazy to actually figure out none of this is new.”
And yet she called a meeting with the influencers that included Kash Patel the head of the FBI and the sitting vice president,” Kelly added. “So she’s either lazy and incompetent or she willingly humiliated some of the president’s most loyal supporters. Neither one of those is good. And that’s why, I’m sorry, but I’m going to predict her days are numbered as a member of the Trump administration.”
Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking in 2019. Just over a month into his stay at the New York Metropolitan Correctional Center he was found dead in his cell. While officials ruled Epstein’s death a suicide, his brother, Mark, and others have challenged that conclusion.
“Jeffrey knew a lot of stuff about a lot of people,” Mark Epstein told the Miami Herald in 2019.
After Epstein’s death, his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in 2021 and later sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years in prison for her role in his crimes. She was the only person held accountable in connection to his trafficking ring.
Epstein’s files have not been publicly released. This has fueled speculation, due to his ties to high-profile figures.
President Donald Trump pledged during his 2024 campaign to release Epstein’s files as well as the JFK assassination files. The administration faced backlash in February after handing a first wave of Epstein documents to conservative influencers — many of whom said the material lacked any real revelations or a so-called “client list.”
Bondi said in March that thousands of Epstein-related files had been withheld from the FBI, telling Fox News’ Sean Hannity the documents would get released after undergoing redactions and with explanations provided for each one.
“You’re looking at these documents going, ‘These aren’t all the Epstein files.’ There were flight logs. There were names, victims’ names, and we’re going ‘Where’s the rest of the stuff?’ That’s what the FBI had turned over to us,” Bondi said on Fox News. “So a source said ‘Whoa, all this evidence is sitting in the Southern District of New York.’ So based on that, I gave them the deadline, Friday at 8, a truckload of evidence arrived.”
Megyn Kelly ....still trying to be relevant.
I wouldn’t be so sure... The President was quick to change the subject when a Post reporter asked a direct question about the files; very strange for the President, I thought.
I still think it was too nuclear. It would bring down all of DC. Democrats, Republicans, Beurocrats, Lobbyists, Journalists. It touched everyone. The fear is real and everywhere.
I’ve supported Trump since the moment in 2015 he came down the escalator and spoke of the invasion on the southern border - the ONLY candidate to raise this issue.
That said..
He is massively wrong for dismissing this issue as “wasted time”...and losing credibility quickly.
Trump MUST do a 180 and get all the names & documents out into the public arena.
Trump should have said “national security”. We won’t like that. But we can respect that. However, I can see why that approach wouldn’t work. So they had no choice but to “lie”.
“He is massively wrong for dismissing this issue as “wasted time”...and losing credibility quickly.”
I agree. I support Trump, but I don’t do the hero worship thing. In this case, he’s making a mistake, in my opinion. It makes the Trump admin look like another byway in the swamp.
Why?? Is she wrong?? You make a big deal about releasing information then you turn around and say there was no information This whole thing makes no sense
I don’t know what to say perhaps there wasn’t a client’s list after all.
Agree. The usually loquacious Trump who loves to expound on everything was uncharacteristically brusk in his reply. In general, whenever the Epstein topic has come up he appears to be evasive and uncomfortable. Just saying.
Spot on comment.
The whole thing STINKS..
for YEARS. In multiple courts and elsewehere there have been numerous references to “THE LIST”. ALL acknowledged it is real.
for them to say. No list! Nevermind. is BS.
The ONLY thing that makes sense here is that our CIA was running this. and THAT looks bad.
Then, Any leverage we have on the pedos goes away if they are outted.
Release it ALL. Expose ALL the pedos.
The question is....Even if there was a list, what did it even mean??
Do not be too quick to pounce on Pam Bondi. Sure, the critics think they have something, but like so many others of whom Trump has shared his trust and support, there are facets that he likes and readily defends. It the job too big for one person? Possibly, but I sincerely believe that AG Bondi can roll with the punches, and remain standing when the room quiets down.
The Epstein files are only one part of all she has piled in her in basket, and it is being sorted out according to available records, of which there is apparently a great paucity, possibly due to a rash of record shredding and “misplaced” data. Remember, there was a span of about two and a half months where the termites could do MUCH damage to the existing data files, and many of them may need considerable reconstruction before the information begins to make sense.
I think Trump is misreading not only his MAGA base but also countless other people who are sick and tired of seeing the elites evade accountability. The people want to see someone, even if its just one person, held accountable for their treachery. Just a small sign that the system occasionally works as it should. It doesn’t appear that Trump even remotely gets this. He is coming across as tone deaf on this important issue which helped to get him elected.
Sadly, I doubt anyone will be fired over the Epstein cover up.
I am disappointed but not surprised.
However, credibility is absolutely gone for folks like Kash and Bongino.
They, for whatever reason have chosen to lie and cover up.
Plane and simple, Epstein was almost certainly a CIA asset, or an asset for a similar organization, whether he was from the start, of was recruited later, who knows... but there i absolutely no doubt he was.
He was charged with multiple counts of child molestation, yet the grand jury only indicted him of “solicitation of prostitution” for repeatedly having sex with a 14 year old girl. Which lead to a joke of a sentence and house arrest, because the true crimes were swept under the rug.
That grand jury was fixed, and that is because he was protected, and not by his big bank account. I don’t care how rich you are, you don’t walk for child rape.
I will not rationalize it away, Kash and Bongino have done what they have done.. They may have been following orders from superiors in doing so, or have rationalized away what they have done by protecting some “greater good”.. but they have absolutely ZERO credibility at this point as far as I’m concerned.
“We found nothing... and in your “we found nothing” evidence you release a prison tape with a full minute just edited out.
You’d have be more gullible than a Biden voter to believe there is no evidence of Epstein procuring young women for others... We have the young women, on the record, repeatedly saying otherwise.
All this has proven to me is, we need to work even harder to remove every last establishment/globalist/uniparty politician from power... Tillis retiring is good, but there are many many more we need to send packing
“ I still think it was too nuclear. It would bring down all of DC.”
If it is as we have been led to believe, no one is above the consequences. It would have the opposite effect IMO. We would be uplifted by exposing and purging those vermin. All of them, theirs and ours. Any excuse simply justifies what happened to those kids, and that I cannot abide. The people responsible are as evil as any demon, and should be dealt with accordingly without remorse.
Patel, Bongino and Bondi have all said they are finding all kinds of information that was hidden from them. The Epstein thing will be released when they think they have all the information. There are about a thousand things more important than the Epstein case going on right now.
There is only one reason and one reason only that Trump doesn’t want that list released. Any other reason doesn’t make sense.
If the reports of Trump being dismissive of this are true, (which of course we have to doubt because the press lies constantly about Trump), then yes, that’s not good at all.
I know if I were Trump, I would come out as personally insanely skeptical and angry if this was put on my desk. I wouldn’t attack anyone directly but I would be highly suspect and openly say so, and see what true options are there to investigate this whole affair independently.
The problem is really who can you get to do an independent investigation and get to the bottom of it, when the whole system is likely compromised at the highest levels?
