US halts Ukraine weapon shipments after 'deciding to put American interests first'
UK Mail ^ | 2 July 2025 | By JAMES REYNOLDS and AFP

The Pentagon review determined that stocks had become too low on some previously pledged munitions, and that some pending shipments now would not be sent, said a US official who spoke on condition of anonymity, according to Politico, which first reported the halt of military aid.

'The strength of the United States Armed Forces remains unquestioned - just ask Iran,' Kelly said, making a reference to the recent US bombings and missile strikes against the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities.

The United States will halt some key weapons shipments to Ukraine that were promised under the Biden administration in a devastating blow to Kyiv.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told the AFP news agency on Tuesday that 'the decision was made to put America's interests first' following a review of defense aid given to other countries.

Missiles for Patriot air defense systems, precision artillery and Hellfire missiles are among the items being held back.

'This decision was made to put America's interests first following a DOD (Department of Defense) review of our nation's military support and assistance to other countries across the globe,' Kelly told AFP in an email.

Stopping the delivery of munitions and other military aid including air defense systems would be a blow to Ukraine as it contends with some of Russia's largest missile and drone attacks of the three-year-old war.

An AFP analysis published Tuesday found that Russia dramatically ramped up aerial attacks in June, firing thousands of drones as Ukraine's stretched air defense systems and exhausted civilian population felt the Kremlin's increased pressure.

The curtailment of military aid signals a possible shift in the priorities of US President Donald Trump, who has pressed for Russia and Ukraine to speed up stalled peace talks.

We need to ramp up production of certain weapons. Our stockpiles too low to send what we committed to Ukraine. Or so the Trump administration claims.

What exactly have we committed to Ukraine? And isn't this exactly what MAGA warned of when we saw the mentally diminished Biden wagging his finger at Putin and yelling, "for as long as it takes"!

I’m surprised we only have a limited number of those bunker buster bombs......this is one time I hope the Pentagon is withholding the true number in inventory.

No, we don’t. We are $37 trillion in debt, and effectively bankrupt.

I own a tool and die business, I build molds for the rubber and plastic industries. I built the molds that form the seal and incorporate the EMP protection on the covers that seal the patriot missile tubes.

Ratheon is SCREAMING for more parts for those launch canisters, since the panels blow off and are not reusable they just fire and leave the thing laying there. One can only assume if they are pushing my customer on an item like those then the entire assembly is being pushed just as hard. Built the entire set of tooling, now they are asking for another 2 sets with expedited deliveries, I just submitted the quotes last Friday.

Russia is already winning the war and making steady gains. When Ukraine loses, however, the media will blame Trump, claiming that Ukraine lost only because he halted arms shipments.

I’m onboard with AmericaFirst.

The Zman is pretty far down on my list of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

Let me get this straight....

For the last three plus years we've been told....

-Russia is a third-rate power that has a bungling military
-The Ukies are winning the war
-The mother of all sanctions will collapse the country
-Putin is a thug and dying of cancer
-The Ruskies are running out of men and rockets
-We'll be there for them Unies for "as long as it takes."
-We are the most advanced nation in the history of the planet, and our military dominates!
-And so many other lies and stories

Finally, we see this third-rate, low-GDP, developing country led by a tyrant and thug take on the full might of the West -- and WIN!

Sound familiar? Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and now Ukraine.

MADNESS and STUPIDITY on steriods!

*************
Yes, US stockpiles are low, deliberately so because of Joe Burden.

We need to build up. US is in a dangerously vulnerable position because of Joe Burden.

That is a really poor reason to keep bankrupting US taxpayers.

If Ukraine won overnight, the media would still say it was because of what Joe Biden did.

No, we don’t

I can see how you might think that however, if the US cannot protect itself then the debt will mean nothing. We’ll no longer be a country.

Claims? We have been underwriting Ukraine with cash and arms for years while depleting our stocks. Yeah we need to ramp up production, we should have done that in 2022, but Biden puppeteers. Let Europe keep depleting their arms for Ukraine in a war they cannot win, while we restock at great expense to current and future taxpayers.
