The last-place cable news network hits rock bottom, but still keeps digging.
Among the errors to which journalists are prone, none is so common as the delusion of instant expertise. Assign a reporter to do an article about theoretical physics, and by the time he files his story, he’ll be convinced he’s Stephen Hawking. You see this sort of phony expertise everywhere in the media nowadays, including sports, where every ESPN panelist offers his predictions with rock-solid confidence, and never acknowledges his mistake when the team he’d picked to win ends up on the wrong side of a lopsided blowout.
Trafficking in fake expertise is routine practice at CNN, where their dwindling audience is now expected to believe that such personalities as Kasie Hunt and Erin Burnett know more about the effectiveness of U.S. military weapons than does Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. It’s worth noting in this context that CNN invested heavily in the idea that Hegseth was not qualified to be in charge of the Pentagon, despite his experience as an officer in the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq.
Scarcely had the B-2 bombers returned from their bombing mission against Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility than CNN went to work to prove that the Air Force mission was a failure. Why would an American news network devote itself to such a task? Because the president of the United States — a guy named Donald Trump, perhaps you’ve heard of him — is a Republican, and CNN is staffed by what Professor Glenn Reynolds calls “Democratic operatives with bylines.” For the past decade, CNN’s coverage has been based on the fundamental assumption that everything Trump does is bad and everything Trump says is wrong. CNN is all anti-Trump, all the time, and, because Trump declared that the mission in Iran was...

This is a Trumpian head fake just like the bombers coming from a different direction. You see nobody is watching CNN and Trump/Hegseth pointed it out. The real whammy will happen when the ‘60 Minutes’ issue comes to a judicial head-a much bigger fish.
Think ‘childless cat ladies’ coming into the fore one week before Haitian illegals made the news eating them.
These ain't the days of Lynne Russell, on CNN.
CNN lost any credibility they may have once had when they refused to report known atrocities committed by Saddam Hussein and his two sons, just so they wouldn’t lose their Baghdad office.
CNN went with their anonymous sources, knowing full well it was a low-confidence story, and lied directly by reporting it anyway. It’s as if they don’t care anymore how transparent their lies are becoming.
Someone should drop a mostly peaceful bunker buster on CNN headquarters. Then put up a sign saying “THIS WAS CNN”
CNN never had credibility..seriously I remember them back in 2006 trashing Israel every damn chance they got..they have always bashed America and bashed Israel..they only lick the asses of Dem presidents..I dont remember them ever asking for an assessment of the bombings Obama did in Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, I can go on and on and on, did they ever ask if those bombings were successful, yeah I didnt think so
I know Wikipedia is horrible regards conservative folks and ideas... but here we go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Hegseth
The guy is impressive and so far he’s impressed me in both his style (how he handles himself) but also the decisions he’s making.
We see it here on FR frequently. People who don't read the article and don't know the background or context are nevertheless belligerent in their opinions, and won't back down when rebutted with facts, citations or significant inside experience.
Don't be one of those people.
It doesn’t matter. Nobody watches it anyway.

CNN is a media organ of the Islamic Umma and a part of the Muslim imperialist effort to undermine and destroy every non-Muslim nation on the face of the globe.
I spoke with her for a while at a Veterans Day event in 2020. I think it fair to say she was appalled by what CNN has become.
A very genuine lady. After CNN she volunteered as an auxiliary sheriff and martial arts instructor. She does interior decorating. The complete woman.
Whoever is funding them must be rich and not care about losing money.
Cable is obsolete
CNN is cable news
CNN is obsolete
