Iran says its Fordow nuclear facility has been struck again

Within Israel, explosions are heard in Jerusalem but no immediate reports of damage

Iran's underground enrichment site at Fordow was hit again Monday while Iran fired a salvo of missiles and drones at Israel and warned the United States that its military now has a "free hand" to attack American targets in the wake of the Trump administration's massive strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

The Israeli military also confirmed it struck roads around the Fordow facility to obstruct access to the site.

The Fordow facility was one of those hit in the initial attack over the weekend, and the subsequent Monday strike was first reported by Iranian state television. There was no immediate word on damage.

Rafael Grossi, the head of the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Monday that "given the explosive payload utilized," the UN nuclear watchdog expected "very significant damage" occurred in the initial strikes there.

With the strikes on Sunday on Iranian nuclear sites, the United States inserted itself into Israel's war, prompting fears of a wider regional conflict. Iran said the U.S. had crossed "a very big red line" with its risky gambit to strike the three sites with missiles and 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs.

In Iran, witnesses reported Israeli airstrikes hit areas around Iran's capital, Tehran, around midday.

One strike hit the gate of Iran's notorious Evin prison in Tehran, Iranian state television reported. The report shared what appeared to be black-and-white-surveillance footage of the strike.

Israel's Defence Ministry confirmed it hit targets including prison and the security headquarters of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guards.

The prison is known for holding dual nationals and Westerners often used by Iran as bargaining chips in negotiations with the West.

Evin also has specialized units for political prisoners and those with Western ties, run by the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, which answers only to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The facility is the target of both U.S. and European Union sanctions...

Just kill these savages and be done with it.

Then walk away.

No aid, no money, and no American boots on the ground.

Smash them and leave.

well, if the white missiles and jewish missiles aren’t doing the job to make the hole bigger, perhaps the afrikan nations can pitch in and have bigger blacker missiles for this.

side note: my script for the next gen naked guns movie series was rejected.

Sincerely doubt that the majority of Iranians are the detached, reflective type Iranians that have been cheering the bombing on American television. Most will simmer and suffer in frustration that not only were they attacked and humiliated but are now unable to retaliate in any significant manner. The mullahs may in fact be overthrown. Nevertheless that bitterness and desire for revenge will last for a very long time. Iran will always be the enemy of America.

"Iran says its Fordow nuclear facility has been struck again"

Sure, now it's an open wound - easier for the IDF to pound it anew.

Strategically and permanently, Israel owns the skies of iran.

ANY anti-aircraft capabilities will be bombed before or as they come online.

Forever.

hamass, dismantled. Hezbollah, nutless. Houthis have no fangs. Assad, gone. Nuke facilities largely (?) neutralized. There is virtually nothing left, except to temporarily only close the straights of Hormuz.

iran has been rendered toothless.

Yep. Germany was humiliated in WW1. And that gave rise to you-know-who, and even more trouble.

Much will depend on who’s running Iran six months from now. If it’s someone reasonable, perhaps we can treat them with a bit of dignity. Like we did with Japan after WW2.

Side note: I trust Trump on this. He doesn’t have the blood lust we see in folks like Lindsey Graham.

No, we just finally retaliated after being targeted by Iran for the past 46 years. The bombing of their nuke sites was both retaliatory and preventative.

I’m game for allowing them a little while to change regimes. It’s probably more-likely-than-not at this point.

If they don’t revolt, destroy their entire oil infrastructure. Then they won’t have money to rebuild.

But no boots, no aid, no money. I agree.

I tend to agree. Despite some level of animosity that some Iranians have toward the Mullahs, the fact remains that a large percentage of Iranians are Muslim. Mullahs aside, I suspect that the average Iranian resents Jews (Israel) and Christians (U.S.) bombing their nation.

The number of missiles entering Israel have gone down. Makes me wonder how many they have left as well as launch sites.
