In the early 2000s, Avery Belyeu was living as a gay man in New York City, starting a career in the nonprofit sector and seeking opportunities to help those struggling to find their identities. About 10 years ago, Belyeu became a woman.
Now CEO of the Montrose Center, Belyeu remains steadfast in her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. She knows the struggles of feeling like she doesn't belong. Raised in a family of Jehovah's Witnesses in Florida, she hasn't seen her parents in 17 years and has found that her religious beliefs align with Judaism.
Belyeu and the Center's staff and clients are grappling with fallout from the recently passed Texas House Bill 229, which defines men and women based on the reproductive organs they are born with and requires state records to reflect it.
That means a person born with male organs who now identifies as female and has updated gender markers on their ID cards will face inconsistencies with their documentation, potentially leading to harassment as they navigate traffic stops and airport security, and try to access services. Additionally, transgender people may be barred from using certain bathrooms, shelters or locker rooms.
Belyeu's transition included medical interventions and most of her legal identification reflects her sex as female...
"When you pass laws saying that some people can't have accurate documentation and that their sex assigned at birth has to be displayed in their medical records, the message being sent is that trans people do not belong, that there is not a space or a place for trans people to exist."
HB 229's author, Ellen Troxclair, R-Austin, says it “lays out the biological truth for anyone who is confused.”

If you don’t know if your a man or a woman you have no identity.....and are very lost IMO.
Why should the taxed pay into their delusions?
Can we say this individual is confused?
So he’s a biological male. At one point in his life, he decided he was a homosexual. Okay , so he was gay.....
But then later on he decided he was not a homosexual male but he really was a female trapped in a man’s body.
And he thinks that society overall needs to cater to his confusion about his gender identity.
And that seems to be where we are at with this subject as a society. We are told we must indulge people’s confusions.
And none of his confusions change the fact that he’s a biological male.
Yet it apparently offends his sensibilities to be referred to as such.
I guess I just don’t understand all this LGBT business.
It’s always a story: this poor person has an emotional struggle blah blah blah. What about the story of the poor guy who worked his ass off to be able to afford a new car and it gets burned up in LA riots, I mean, entertainingly incinerated in a peaceful protest? The story only matters if it relates to the feelings they want you to feel. I don’t know how the poor bleeding hearts are able to focus allof their sadness and grief and frustration on mistreatment of immigrants, then marginalization of sexually confused individuals, then the Palestinians, then the mattering of black lives. It seems exhausting.
I saw a white guy standing in a crosswalk holding a sign that said Black Lives Matter. A black guy was hitting him up for some money. The funniest thing was he was saying black lives matter and here was this black guy asking him for money. You know he didn’t want to give him money but right then he had no choice when all the people in cars were watching him. I wondered what denomination of currency he gave the black guy. Probably a dollar. What a cheapskate. Black lives matter but only for a dollar. I was close enough I rolled down my window and said to the black guy when you want to say it, say it with cash.
Still a homo though, unless he underwent conversion therapy.
‘Avery Belyeu, born male, now “female”’
Avery Belyeu, born male, now mentally ill.
There, fixed it
My bank still does not recognize my identity as a billionaire. There ought to be a law to fix this.../s
About 10 years ago, Belyeu became a woman.
Sorry buddy but you’re a Male and will always be a Male , surgery can’t change that
and do these people EVER stop complaining ?
A collateral problem with trannies is their desperate craving for attention, which might be at the root of their illness to begin with. It’s why they are so hysterical about their pronouns. It’s a mentality that is centered around their impact on others. In isolation I doubt they would even exist.
Oh the Huge Manatee!!!!!!
Whatever IT is, IT will be getting a prostate exam at age 50.
I’m quite sick of these lunatics and their sob stories.
*** About 10 years ago, Belyeu became a woman.***
How did he change his DNA?
I honestly don’t give a damn what these misfits do with their miserable lives HOWEVER them demanding SPECIAL rights and privileges PISSES ME OFF!! Why in the hell should they be given SPECIAL protection for ANYTHING!!! Be who you are just like the rest of us in America who live everyday WITHOUT special laws and carve outs!!!
April Towery - Another stupid, lying journalist. Avery Belyeu is not a woman.
Wait — there’s a “trans community” now? They should just call these people what they are: fetishists and pervs. That’s what the community is.
“”Avery Belyeu, born male, now “female”:””
Still a dude, Jim.
