President Donald Trump is free to bar the Associated Press from some White House media events for now, after a U.S. appeals court on Friday paused a lower court ruling mandating that AP journalists be given access.
The divided ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit temporarily blocks an order by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, who ruled on April 8 that the Trump administration must allow AP journalists access to the Oval Office, Air Force One and White House events while the news agency's lawsuit moves forward.

Not sure why this is even open for debate. The White House can exclude me from any and all functions they want to. Does the Constitution mention the AP? Does it give them special privileges somewhere? Is that one of the Amendments that I missed “Thou show not limit AP’s access to the President”?
The associated press and anyone who uses their style guide (including business and AI) refuses to capitalize “White” because of social justice or something.
I can’t believe it is even a question either. Can anyone can slap a “Press” badge on and demand to be allowed into the oval office?

One day, sooner than anyone here wants, there will again be a Democrat in the Oval Office. When that happens, outlets like Fox, Newsmax, NY Post, and conservative blogs will all undoubtedly be excluded. This will be used as the precedent.
Mainstream media seems to think that only those that they anoint to be worthy have first amendment rights. We are all the press now. Enough with this monopoly of presstitutes of the drive-by media.
They have the right to print and say whatever they want and report on whatever Trump and his administration do. That doesn’t mean they have a constitutional “right” to have physical access to the White House and Trump himself. Where are the judges who ruled against this not seeing the difference?
That was suggested back during the Obama years but they never went through with it.
