Feels like opportunities for China to save face and present itself as “in charge”, receiving phone calls, hosting visits, and being important.
Which is fine as long as the eventual deal favors us more than them.
It’s better if any deal is favorable to everyone involved and no one gets shafted in any way, lol.

I would not travel to China or any other adversary country on the planet for the complete wealth of the entire universe. There are parts of the city in which I live where I refuse to travel. I always go around those kinds of places even if it means more gasoline and more time. ;-)

I have a bad feeling about Trump going to China. Maybe Xi ought to come to the US.
There is no way his security can be assured in a trip like this.
A waste of time. Say thanks and agree to a meeting after US has created new supply chains and re-shored business. The idea is to stall and give US economy time to transition.
Any agreement with China is worthless because China lies, cheats, spies and steals. No substantive agreements should be made with China. All window dressing. Meanwhile, make it impossible for Chinese to come to US for school or make investments.
