U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman issued the stay.
A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the Trump administration from withholding funds to New York City over its opposition to a congestion traffic pricing program that Washington says is more about raising money than addressing congestion.
U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman issued the stay, Reuters reported. The program has seen the city charge most vehicles a $9 toll to enter the Big Apple during periods of high traffic.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, however, has said the program appears "driven primarily by the need to raise revenue for the Metropolitan Transit Authority system as opposed to the need to reduce congestion."
Duffy had moved to terminate DOT approval for the program and previously said he would work with New York authorities to end it. The program itself drew mixed reactions from state governments, with NY Gov. Kathy Hochul supporting it and NJ Gov. Phil Murphy opposing it.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Another fag “district judge” wannabe. The boy thinks he’s God. And the illegal aliens think he’s God too.
I assume someday a judge will say he needs a lavoratory pass permission slip to use the restroom at the White House.
I'm really getting sick of this headline.
Trump 0? 1? 2?
Are you tired of LOSING yet?
If only we had a RINO President, we would be winning like crazy!
Princess Kathy and her Court Jester, “Tish” got the Judge to write a stay so the moolah keeps flowing to the “supporters.”
What a merde extravaganza.
He was nominated in 2017 by Donald Trump.
I like Trump as much as most Freepers, but there are limits to what he, or any President, can do via executive order. Trump needs to ask Congress to block the congestion pricing.
It seems like Trump had a good plan, get all of this to the courts early in his term so maybe he’ll actually be able to implement his vision.
If under DOT purview, and subject to their approval (and not Congress’) I fail to see why it is not legit for the funding to be curtailed.
Dear Ms. Hochul...When you run against Stefanik...you’re going to lose badly. Dems pay taxes, too....
If NY state legally needed federal approval for the congestion pricing, then it’s not a right but a privilege the federal government can either grant of deny, and can change it’s mind about. Biden may have approved it but nothing legal makes the approval permanent if a different administration opposes it.
As to the congestion pricing itself, I believe it is always morally and ethically wrong to tax one specific body of the population to expressly pay dividends to another specific body of the population. With the case of congestion pricing it is a tax on motor vehicle operators the proceeds of which are to directly benefit mass transit users, subsidizing transit systems run so poorly the fares cannot pay for the operations. That is all wrong.
As to whether of not it has reduced congestion: My own anecdotal evidence - driving in and out of NYC multiple times and on different days of the week since congestion pricing began, is that traffic congestion in lower Manhattan has been reduced and sometimes greatly.
Financially, it still does not make it fair in my book.
Judges are judges regardless of who nominates them. Bastards who believe they are God.
This FKERS are not letting him fill the people’s mandate!😡 the DOJ and Bondi need to forget the rest of the shit and start looking for dirty corruption shit from these judges and hold them accountable. Everybody has a price and everybody’s got dirty laundry! It’s time to do war with these corrupt rogue pieces of shit bastards.
These rogue judges are showing their true radical colors and if you think Letitia James is gonna go to prison if her case is in front of a New York court I’ve got a beachfront property to sell you located in the Sahara desert.
It should be a requirement for people posting articles about judicial decisions to include a link to the actual decision.
