Sen. Johnson: Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill ‘Unacceptable,’ No Way I’m Voting for This
Breitbart ^ | 05/23/2025 | Pam Key

Friday, in a clip that aired on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said President Donald Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Big” was unacceptable in its current form, as passed by the House of Representatives.

Johnson told a reporter on Capitol Hill, “I couldn’t care less if he’s upset. I’m concerned about my children, my grandchildren, and the fact that we are stealing from them. We are stealing from our children and grandchildren. $37 trillion in debt, and we’re going to add to it as Republicans? That is unacceptable.”

He added, “And that’s why there’s no way I’m going to vote for this bill in its current form.”

Polling and focus groups most likely determine what senators say and do. I mean besides the graft.

Reminds me of the group of old blind men describing what an elephant looks like, only while they rob you into poverty, stomp on every liberty, and butt slam future generations.

All we need, at a minimum, is 50 GOP votes and the VP to break the tie.

reconciliation. First they need to make permanent the DOGE and Trump cuts. They need to really cut taxes as Trump proposed. And they need to go through it with a fine toothed comb and look for any RINO pork or Dem flavored RINO pork.

And yet Ron Johnson is conservative. What the heck?

Or I should say, often heard him described as a good conservative here on Free Republic. One of the good ones, not a RINO,is what I’ve heard. So what’s up with him?

He makes some good points. However it takes votes and compromises to get things done in government.

Does he have the votes for his position? Probably not. Just stopping a bill isn’t enough and just caves to the democrats.

This is where the RINOs who now remain in the Senate get the unexpected spanking of their lives.

Stephen Miller has a file on each one of them, courtesy of Elon Musk.

Is this the same Ron Johnson who was on tv constantly a few years ago begging for money so he could win his election and take down all the corrupt democrats???? How did that go?

He didn’t have a problem how Biden or Obama ran the country.

The dirty little secret is that many Republicans in Congress represent states and districts that are filled with white people on welfare. Heck — there are some entire “red” states that wouldn’t exist if the U.S. government had a balanced budget. I’ll name West Virginia, for one.

Sen. Johnson is right. I’m not quite sure what is motivation is here, but he’s right. Not that it matters. He’ll get rolled over, and the deficit will climb even higher.

I get that Trump is trying his best to improve the country. But I’m getting more than a bit leery of: First we’ve got to do A. Then we’ll do B. And that will cause C to happen, which will reduce the deficit.

It never seems to work out that way.
