WASHINGTON (AP) — A former FBI agent and Pentagon contractor has sued the founder of a conservative nonprofit known for its hidden camera stings over secretly recorded videos showing the contractor criticizing President Donald Trump to a woman he thought he had taken on a date.
Jamie Mannina says in his lawsuit that he was misled by a woman he met on a dating website who held herself out as a politically liberal nurse but who was actually working with the conservative activist James O’Keefe in a sting operation designed to induce Mannina into making “inflammatory and damaging” remarks that could be recorded, “manipulated” and posted online.
Clips from their January conversations were spliced together to make it appear that Mannina was “essentially attempting to launch an unlawful coup against President Trump,” and articles released online with the videos defamed Mannina by painting him as part of a “deep state” effort with senior military officials to undermine Trump’s presidency, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Washington.
Mannina does not deny in the lawsuit making the comments but says his words were taken out of context, edited and pieced together in a manner designed to paint him in a false light, including in a written description on YouTube that accompanied the publication of one of the recordings.
O’Keefe founded Project Veritas in 2010 but was removed from the organization in 2023 amid allegations that he mistreated workers and misspent funds. He has continued to employ similar hidden camera stings as part of a new organization he established, O’Keefe Media Group, which also is named in the lawsuit along with the woman who pretended to be on dates with Mannina. Her identity is not known, the lawsuit says.
O’Keefe told The Associated...

Yes, that would be good to know.
I hope O’Keefe has the unedited video so he can prove that the clips he aired were not edited or “taken out of context”. I don’t know what additional words this guy thinks he said that would negate what he clearly said in the video that was posted.
And I hope that O’Keefe is able to get compensation for his costs to defend himself when this is found to be a frivolous lawsuit. AND I hope the court lets him receive punitive damages for it as well.
Members of the Uniparty are the scummiest grifters on the face of the Earth.
Isn't that what SeeBS/60 Minutes did with their Kamala interview?
Deep State. He was a VERY high level contractor who alleged knowledge of a coup against Trump among "generals."
I mean, is he gonna claim that right after he said what he’s on video saying, he said, “Just kidding.”?
Or maybe he’s gonna claim he had his fingers crossed behind his back...
He needs to say exactly what else he said that negates or “puts into correct context” what he is on tape saying. If he’s gonna make the claim that O’Keefe left out something important, then he needs to say exactly what it was that O’Keefe left out. If not, this lawsuit is simply libel against O’Keefe, and I hope O’Keefe countersues - and that the court uses this opportunity to make an example out of anybody who would lie to the court in order to make the court complicit in libel.
I hope Kash and Bondi are getting subpoenas and warrants so they can follow the money on this. If it is Deep State, their tracks should be possible to follow, if investigators are proactively looking.
“I hope Kash and Bondi are getting subpoenas and warrants so they can follow the money on this.“
Don’t hold your breath on that one
This is entrapment.
Defamation is about false statements of fact that damage a person’s reputation, while false light focuses on portraying someone in a misleading way, even if the portrayal isn’t technically false. False light can also protect a person’s emotional well-being.
Unless O’Keefe did a 60 Minutes hatchet job (’SEE: ‘Ambush At Fort Bragg’ by Tom Wolfe),i.e. selective editing, this Strzok fellow traveler(?) may be looking at a QBVII (Leon Uris)-type judgment: &1.00. Legally in DC, O’Keefe did nothing wrong in recording him.
The sooner arrests are made the better.
I’m betting the world enslavement forum.
If he wants to talk badly about Trump to others, he should just own up to it and tread more lightly next time he tries to impress a girl.
He apparently revealed and celebrated a criminal conspiracy against the elected President of the U.S. That does not sound very smart for a guy out on a date.
Betrayal is its own punishment. Once you are seen as a traitor, nobody on any side will ever trust you.
Yes, because if O’Keefe were caught editing video deceptively, it would be the end of his career as a journalist, and I don’t think he would ever risk that.
He should be prosecuted for sedition and treason.
I wonder who is paying for his attorney?

Reid Hoffman picks up a lotta tabs for stuff that’s damaging to trump
You are exactly correct. This suit is without merit and the person suing and his lawyers know this. The person or organization will incur great expense in defending the suit. This is law fare. Use the court system to bankrupt your opponent by suits you know you will lose.
