Grand Old Popey.

Pope Leo XIV was an active voter who participated in several Republican primaries in recent years and voted in the most recent presidential election, according to a report.

Then-Cardinal Robert Prevost, a Chicago native, pulled the lever in Republican primaries in 2012, 2014, and 2016, the Washington Free Beacon reported, citing election records.

The Dolton, Illinois, born pontifex also voted in general elections in 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2024, the report stated.

He is reported to be strong on prolife issues. I hope his support of illegal aliens did not outweigh his concern for death of the unborn and the mutilation of children, leading him to support “devout Catholic” Joe Biden.

Voting for the weakest republican candidate to help the democrat candidate in the general election?

That’s a very old dirty trick...

I’m going to laugh my ass off if someone finds a photo of the guy wearing a MAGA hat. LOL.

I really don’t think a person holding duel citizenship should be allowed to vote in an election. Such a person doesn’t have the best interests of the USA in their mind.

I suspect he is a George Ryan / Charles Percy Illinois Republican. He probably was Republican due to the Pro-Life issue. But otherwise took liberal positions.

My mom was a dem and registered rep so she could vote for the worst candidate in the primaries. Then voted dem in the general. So, as we all know, registration doesn’t tell us much other than which party a person is registered in.

Congrats to Cardinal Prevost. Who has the very real chance to be the first elected official from Illinois not to end his term in office by beginning a jail term.

I don’t believe in dual citizenship. You should have loyalty to one nation. I think it would be much better if you had one citizenship and you could have a preferred status in let’s say the country you were born in.

That part has been played by Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Presidential nominees like Bush,Cheney,Bush,McCain,Romney.

It would be just about right in this upside down Swamp world to have a ‘Registered Republican’ elected Pope that stands opposed to President Trump and MAGA just like those other Die Hard Republicans.

Problem is they haven’t died hard enough.

But he did “re-tweet” some nasty comments about President Trump.
