Gov. Kathy Hochul is delivering a big win to businesses that have been pressuring her to pay off their billions of dollars in unemployment-insurance debt — but she’s stealing the cash from state reserves to do it.
Hochul said Monday that the state will cover the roughly $7 billion debt still lingering for employers from the pandemic.
The businesses had hoped federal money that the state received during COVID-19 would at least partly be used to help cover the deluge of unemployment claims spurred by the pandemic, as most other states did.+
But the state used the money for other things, and the businesses have been forced to pay into a fund to pay down the debt.

Out of the taxpayer’s pockets and into big business’s pockets
Probably mostly campaign contributions to elect Democrats.
Democrats’ smoke and mirrors and ‘rainy day funds’ and all are coming up like that “lockbox” which the Clintons promised was locked....
IIRC, we’re not allowed to have reserves.
The blue states are thinking just like drug addicts, pawning off all of their possessions for the next hit.
Negative.
Pawning off other's possessions, like their mom's furniture, gas stove and full refrigerator.
But the state used the money for other things...

It's called increasing the taxes in the highest taxed state.

They all bet on Harris being elected and bailing them out with more federal money.
I’d be interested to know what NY squandered the federal largess on. DOGE need to audit and the federal government claw back funds spent contrary to the purpose of the appropriation.
But the state used the money for other things....
So big of her to avoid explaining what she did with the billions she blew elsewhere...
Billions on illegals, for starters.
This is why society has to rebuild from nothing when liberals get through with it.
Selling the landlords stuff before they get evicted.
Swiss bank accounts.
She shut down the state.Small businesses went bankrupt. Would you want to own a business in NY when she was Governor? Drain your life’s savings?
