Just moments into President Donald Trump's latest sitdown at Mar-a-Lago with NBC News' "Meet the Press," Trump was forced to rebuke bias by host Kristen Welker's line of questioning, even if the interview ultimately featured Welker changing her tone and even smiling and adopting Trump's messaging.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, this is such a dishonest interview already," Trump told Welker in a wide-ranging interview to mark his administration's 100 days milestone this week, blasting her for cherry-picking data points to tarnish his work in contrast to massive Biden-era inflation – by suggesting using tariffs to leverage a reworking a global trade order is causing prices to go up.
"Prices are down on groceries. Prices are down on oil. Trump has had a long history with Welker, having rebuked her presidential debate moderation and lines of questioning, but he agreed to a 100-day sit-down this week just months after having a March sit-down with the host he has often rebuked for being biased.
Trump pushed back on Welker's adoption of China's negative statement on Trump's use of tariffs to rebalancing global trade, particularly with China, which Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick told Newsmax this week benefits from a $1 trillion annual trade surplus with the U.S.

Unlike Papa Bush or Dubya, Trump and his administration fight the narratives directly, not relying on other people to make counternarratives. By doing that, they can also populate the short videos on YouTube or TikTok with direct quotes from them on certain issues. I don’t remember any Republican administration who did what Trump 2.0 is doing.

I just watched the interview. It was as good as any rally. Trump demolished the poor little reporterette so badly, I actually felt sorry for her.
