100 Days: Inflation Falls To Zero Even as Income and Spending Grow
Breitbart ^ | 04/30/2025 | John Carney

Inflation fell to zero in March, a welcome reprieve after persistent inflation under President Biden and the best reading in nearly five years, even as consumer spending accelerated sharply and incomes rose solidly — a powerful signal of economic improvement at the start of the Trump administration.

The Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, was flat in March, according to data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Core PCE — which strips out food and energy — was also unchanged, marking the tamest monthly inflation reading since early 2020.

Compared with a year ago, the PCE index is up 2.3 percent and the core index is up three percent, both below the month-earlier figures. The Federal Reserve says it targets two percent inflation when making monetary policy.

President Donald Trump anticipated the fall in inflation at a rally Tuesday night in Michigan.

“Inflation is basically down and interest rates came down despite the fact that I have a Fed person who’s not really doing a good job, but I won’t say that,” Trump said.

When I wake up in the morning I pray to protect President Trump, his family, cabinet, and our nation and that he accomplishes great things.

It is amazing what cutting off the theft of $billions of our tax money to rich leftists and their followers does to diminish their spending and cool down inflation.

Leftist oligarchs loose and American citizens win. Thanks Trump.

When I see prices start going down in the store, then I’ll applaud.

Which prices are you watching, specifically?

Spoiler alert: You’ll never applaud anything President Trump does.

You must be a troll. It’s obvious prices are coming down.
Do a comparison of a year or two ago and today.

-cream cheese 6 pack was $16 now $10
- Heavy cream was $6 now $3.80
-eggs were $11 for 18 now $6

Look it up then post back.

“so whats the problem”

If inflation > growth, then the country is getting poorer. It was bad under Biden when inflation was 7% and growth was 3%, it is less bad now, but still bad when inflation is 0% and growth is -.3%.

If you want a healthy country, growth needs to be several percentage points higher than inflation.

The numbers matter less than the difference between them.

How about the lower price at the pump which you know will soon lower the price of most everything you buy, including the fuel itself?

How about the sudden explosion in home sales contracts (Up 6.1% last month!) that has startled the financial media? (Sales contract were up .1% last month.)

Not much has changed for my materials since most are made in the USA. I have a stock of stainless steel which is made in Italy but we’ll see what happens. I stocked up on the electronics I use because there is no domestic supplier for what I need. But haven’t really seen much.

Trump really is something else. Absolutely hilarious!

“The US economy shrank by 0.3% in Q1 2025, its first decline in over two years, due to higher imports before new tariffs and slower consumer spending. Net exports cut GDP by nearly 5%.”(!)

Let’s see what the next few months tell us, especially given that home sales contracts just exploded upwards by 6.1%.
