Democrats in Connecticut’s House will weigh a bill this week that would allow citizens to sue gun manufacturers, marketers, and dealers over the criminal use of firearms.
The CT Insider noted that the legislation is being pushed as a way to create state-level options for filing lawsuits that are barred federally by the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA).
State Rep. Steve Stafstrom (D) believes PLCAA has given too much legal immunity to people in the firearms industry: “What it has done is provide untoward protections to gun manufacturers and has deprived victims of their rights to seek compensation in our courts when they are injured by a firearm.”
He added that the state-level legislation “would go further,” noting, “If you know your products are getting into the hands of gun traffickers and there is a way for you to prevent that from happening and you’re not doing it, this would allow a civil action in that instance. This adds a level of civil redress for a victim on top of the existing prohibitive practices.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
These idiots in CT is WHY WE LEFT in 2006.
So far, Federal Law still forbids that.
Sue Lowes or Home Deport when someone kill a loved one with a hammer or screwdriver.
Sue shoemakers for people who trip and fall.
Sue silverware companies for your inability to stop overeating.
Sue soda makers for obesity and diabetes.
Let’s open Pandora’s box.
How about suing Democrat state and municipal governments for permitting the culture of drug abuse, welfare dependency, illiteracy, and other related things to continue to exist and in turn contributing that greatly to why violent crime takes place to begin with.
The democrats have nothing good and positive to offer so they continue to think and act along these lines.
Sue car companies for wrecks caused by DUI Illegals..............
I'm still operating behind enemy lines.
One day soon I will have to leave for a better defensed position.
Sue bread companies for heart disease...............
Can I sue General Motors because a drunk driver ran over me with his Buick?
Or when a pedestrian is hurt because the driver of a Ford hit him. THAT one will be interesting
I like that one
And,while we're at it, let's make "Joe Camel" illegal ...
At least we'll always have the Brits to make use look like we're a serious people.
Add car dealers, repair shops, car manufacturers, bicycle dmanufacruers, dealers, oh how about banks for have money which encourages bank robbers. Democrats for denying citizens their constitutional right to self defense leave alone our right to own.
Federal preemption, except when it’s (D)ifferent.
AKA how to waste CT taxpayers’ money losing.
Companies and rights groups must make it clear that they will not only seek to overturn any such law but will go for damages against states, cities, or other organizations that attempt to implement such laws.
The only thing leftists respect is getting hurt (financially in this case). Anything less is only a pause or a green light to them.
Move out of CT. Problem solved.
Crime victims in Connecticut should be able to sue Connecticut for failing to keep them safe.
How about allowing the victims of crimes committed by ILLEGAL ALIENS to sue DEMOCRATS for allowing these criminals into the country in the first place?
Remember back when tobacoo companies were going through the same thing, and we said then that this is where this would lead to?
McDonald’s and the coffee thing?
Yeah... They don’t stop until they find a judge/jury they can manipulate and then they move on to the next thing.
“What you allow, will continue.”
