Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about forthcoming strikes in Yemen on March 15 in a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, according to four people with knowledge of the chat.
Some of those people said that the information Mr. Hegseth shared on the Signal chat included the flight schedules for the F/A-18 Hornets targeting the Houthis in Yemen — essentially the same attack plans that he shared on a separate Signal chat the same day that mistakenly included the editor of The Atlantic.

SECDEF owns the Security Classification Guide (SCG) for DoD as an Originator of classified information. Meaning: He decides what is classified, and when it gets declassified; with DJT being the overall custodian for all things classified, per the Executive Order that every president signs on the first day of office.
He, like the President, can declassify anything at a whim, or transmit whatever he likes, on whatever platform (as long as POTUS is good with it).
End of the issue.

Being at the highest level of responsibility/professional adherence to protocols is a default position at best with Hegseth’s title. This is just incompetent freewheeling/not covering your bases professional malpractice at minimal, “not a “rookie mistake” just excuse making CYA BS that the military teaches, especially during TDY. Hegseth is at the Pentagon, not in at conference in Las Vegas trying to impress females with “his knowledge. Hegseth needs to not be a Chatty Cathy about every military move. But as I understand it he’s fully on board with the MAGA agenda, so they are especially after him. I hope he’s learned—and clammed up.
