Killer teen Karmelo Anthony's family reveal OTHER plans for $400k 'legal defense fund'

The family of a teen who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old boy in Texas plans to use his $400,000 legal defense fund to move home and hire security after facing racist threats.

Anthony, 17, was in court as he faces a first-degree murder charge for the killing of Austin Metcalf, who died in his twin brother Hunter's arms after being stabbed in the heart at a track meet in Frisco earlier this month.

During the hearing, prosecutors asked his father Andrew Anthony why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son's defense to pay the original $1million bond, which was reduced to $250,000 on Monday.

Andrew Anthony said the fund was to be used for Anthony's legal defense. But he also disclosed that the cash would be used for security and to help the family move after the threats they have allegedly faced since the killing.

The revelation comes after a spokesperson for the family said they can't leave their after their address was leaked online, leading to 'graphic and racist threats,' which included images of 'black children with knives stuck in their head.'

"The racist judge lowered his bond from $1 million to 250,000 so he could bond out. Now he’ll sit at home playing video games for years while his case waits to go to trial. Unless he decides to move to Chicago or Detroit and just disappear."

"That fundraiser has raked in more than $415,000 so far.

Those proceeds will help the family retain two hot-shot Dallas lawyers with a history of headline-grabbing racial justice cases.

One, Kim Cole, represented black teen Dajerria Becton after a viral video from McKinney, Texas, showed a cop slamming and pinning her to the ground at a pool party.

Cole managed to win a $148,850 settlement for Becton from the McKinney police department and the officer, who resigned.

Anthony’s other attorney, Billy Clark, became a professional mediator after a 20-year career in the Air Force.

In a recent statement, the pair of attorneys directed people to the Anthony family fundraiser..."

Two things are in play here. One, these two overpaid doofuses are going to burn through the GoFindMeMoMoney while they try to buffalo the DA into something less than 20 years for the Sudden Passion; and then try to salvage what little i$ left when the Metcalf family wins their civil suit and bankrupts the f out of Karamelo and his kin.

As they like to say, "You love to see it...", while the smell of popcorn popping permeates the air.

Another article I read but do not have at hand had 'promoted' him (lol) to Finance Manager, and the FM is often the highest-paid for-hire guy on the lot.

The Saint George Fentanyl of Minneapolis family got $27 million.

They will be gifting some of it back to the community that was destroyed during the riots.

$500,000 has been set aside, with the family deciding what businesses will receive amounts of $5,000, $10,000 or $25,000.

Frisco doesn’t have a ‘hood. Plano and McKinney do, but Frisco doesn’t.

"A lot of suburban white kids (boys and girls) throw gang signs."

True. People make too big a deal out of photos and jump to conclusions. One photo of Anthony was clipped from a larger photo that showed white teens standing with him. There are photos of Metcalf flipping the bird and throwing signs, too.

It doesn't matter whether they threw gang signs or flipped the bird or posed with a gun (or a fake gun) in photos.

Both Metcalf and Anthony were considered good students and athletes. Anthony was in the paper for saving a child from drowning in Louisiana.

None of that matters, either. All that matters is this one altercation that escalated very quickly. Now, one of them is gone forever.

IIRC it was a GoFundMe. Who wouldn’t allow a Kyle Rittenhouse defense fund to be collected.

From reading comments in another thread, I was told that there was originally a GoFundMe account, but it was closed by GoFundMe when people protested a double standard for this kid and other people in the past.

Commenters said that the current account is a GiveSendGo account.

Some Freepers think every black person is poor and lives in the hood.

I live in an affluent Los Angeles neighborhood. Five years ago, no blacks lived in my area. Post-BLM, I've seen a dozen or so blacks living here.

I do wonder, how many have suddenly gotten rich on DEI jobs? The entertainment industry went on a DEI splurge post Summer of Floyd. As did local, county and state governments, and corporations with government contracts.

I have a lot of good black friends all over the US who work d_mn hard and pay their way just like I do. Some on Free Republic sure have gotten a lot nastier and prejudice in the years I’ve been a member. It’s becoming embarrassing to suggest people check out Free Republic to read the truth.
