Shock details of Trump assassination suspect Ryan Routh's alleged plans to kill president include Ukraine ties

Ryan Wesley Routh sought to purchase a rocket launcher from Ukraine the month before he was arrested for allegedly attempting to assassination President Donald Trump.

The alleged would-be assassin was corresponding on an encrypted messaging app with someone he believed to be a Ukrainian with access to military weapons, a Justice Department filing in the Southern District of Florida claims.

It goes on to allege that Routh, 58, asked this associate to 'send me an rpg [rocket propelled grenade] or stinger and I will see what we can do…[Trump] is not good for Ukraine.'

'I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected,' Routh said, according to the filing.

Prosecutors allege that this correspondence, which included discussion over price and shipment of such anti-aircraft weapons, is further proof of Routh's intent to assassinate Trump.

He sent an image to the Ukrainian messenger with an image of Trump's campaign plane and wrote: 'Trump's plane, he gets on and off daily.'

Speaking of the July 2024 failed attempt on Trump's life, Routh wrote: 'I wish.'

Meanwhile, Routh's attorneys are working to get a judge to prevent the most crucial eyewitness account from being included in the trial on his alleged assassination attempt against Trump.

On September 14, 2024, a witness – identified as T.C.M. – saw a disheveled-looking man jump out of the bushes outside of Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida and flee in a black Nissan after shots rang out.

This eyewitness account is what law enforcement say was critical to tracking down the alleged would-be assassin and charging him.

Routh was arrested about an hour after the witness relayed what he saw while driving to a furniture store that day.

Yep, this was known to many of us who actually pay attention months ago. The media just was not interested to ask why he had so many burner phones.

Corresponding with an unknown Ukrainian...

Sounds like a Nigerian prince type scammer corresponded with a complete nutjob.

This moron’s actions are distracting and obfuscating where the real attention needs to be - on Thomas Crooks at Butler PA.

Yeah, this guy is a dirty subcontractor who got shoved a CIA job because he’s insane enough to try it.

And dollars to donuts if he or Crooks succeeded they’d be linked to Iran or something and used as justification for another war.

Sounds like a Nigerian prince type scammer corresponded with a complete nutjob.

Routh smells like a low-level CIA asset who was not properly monitored by his handlers and developed an exaggerated sense of his own importance. That project was clumsy in execution and looks like there was only a single person involved.

Yes, the Thomas Crooke/Maxwell Yearick affair looks like it was much better coordinated with many others involved. That project nearly succeeded, and the clean-up efforts were remarkably thorough.

A lot more attention is needed in the latter case. But who can be trusted? Certainly not the FBI or the Secret Service.

“That project was clumsy in execution and looks like there was only a single person involved.”

It appears he could have slipped out entirely were it not for the guy who got his license number. That was an amazing fluke.

I’ll bet the person on the other end of that RPG was CIA and they knew about his plans all along.

Yes, probably the CIA - who are probably the ones funding him as well and would have paid for the black-market weapons (probably weapons Biden gave the Ukes without any requirement for accountability).

I think his sources of income need to be thoroughly examined.

You know, when I have my RPGs shipped I make sure I use DHL because the Fed Ex guy steals them off my porch.

Um, unlike Crazy Man Ryan Routh, I suspect even the most bumbling “CIA handler” knows you can’t just ship an RPG into the US.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. And a crazy man is just a crazy man.

It appears he could have slipped out entirely were it not for the guy who got his license number. That was an amazing fluke.

It was an amazing stroke of good luck and is why the police caught him so quickly. But the parking lot across the street where he stashed his car had a CCTV monitor which recorded his entry and exit from the lot along with the license plate of his car.

And he used a car belonging to a family member. He was going to be caught eventually.

A competent project team would have used a stolen car with phony plates on it. A competent assassin would have waited for the advance team to pass before bringing out the weapon. The weapon would have been a cold item, not traceable to the shooter in any way. The entire setup was risky with too much wait time (hours) required in an exposed position. Routh could have been seen hiding in the bushes by a driver on the roadway. Perhaps he was seen.

The only question left is "How did Routh know that President Trump would be on the course that day?". I really want to hear a convincing explanation for that.

Our real lucky factor is that this was an amateur hour production by a volunteer who overestimated his abilities.

“How did Routh know that President Trump would be on the course that day?”. I really want to hear a convincing explanation for that.”

In earlier discussions here, it was pretty much established that Routh made an educated guess. It was known that Trump was in town, that he usually golfed, and usually golfed at that course. Routh guessed he would be playing golf there that day rather than make the longer drive to the next closest course where he sometimes played. He guessed right.
