Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts indefinitely blocked a court order requiring the return of alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia by midnight tonight.
Earlier Monday, President Trump asked the US Supreme Court to intervene and grant an emergency stay of the judge’s order to return alleged MS-13 gang member Abrego Garcia to the United States.
Roberts granted the Trump Administration a stay on Judge Xinis’ order pending resolution.
Lawyers for Abrego Garcia have until Tuesday, April 8 to respond.

Also interesting to see, that the Chief Justice has this sort of authority to set aside injunctions and other procedural rulings in the lower courts. If he chooses to exercise such authority, that is.

John Sauer also said the US does not control El Salvador and therefore “cannot compel El Salvador to follow a federal judge’s bidding.” Now what, Judge?
