Not much to argue about with this post. Long ago we’ve noticed that much of Western culture has lost the will to survive. The only good news for me is that I’m very unlikely to be around in 2050.

In the US, the Republicans try very hard to play nice, and follow the rules. We don’t take extreme steps. We don’t push the boundaries. Because, you know, the GOP may have power now (do we?) but if the Democrats ever get back into power, they will suddenly do what we just did! Those Democrats will suddenly start to take extreme steps! They will push the boundaries! The Democrats will feel emboldened to do these terrible things if the Republicans do these things, which is why the Republicans must continue to play nice and follow the rules.

It seems lost on the Republican establishment that the Democrats stopped playing nice about 50 or 60 years ago (at least). They always push the boundaries. They never follow the rules. Heck, Joe Biden openly ignored the Supreme Court and barely anyone in the media even commented on it.

Western Civilization is crumbling everywhere. At some point, we have to fight and we have to prepared for things to get messy. We didn’t start this struggle, but we will have to engage at some point.

Mark Steyn exposed this very clearly nine years ago in "America, Alone." He posited that Europe was doomed because of the Islamist takeover and the way below replacement fertility rate of native Western Europeans. He believed that America would not follow this same trajectory, but I think that's been disproven since he wrote the book.

So Europe is lost due to few births, the takeover of the islamists, and national governments clearly on board with the end of Europe. Most of that is the result of two horrific World Wars that destroyed Europe and left a hedonistic, nihilistic population behind.

The end paragraph on the inside flap almost foretold the rise of President Trump: The future, if the West has one, belongs to America alone with maybe its cousins in brave Australia.
