Canada is launching a billboard offensive in its trade war with Uncle Sam, targeting highways in 12 red states with messages like “tariffs are a tax on your grocery bill.”

“We are launching ads in the US to make sure all Americans know that tariffs are taxes on everything they buy,” Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly said on X.

The Great White North is calling it an “education campaign.”

“The purpose is to increase the understanding of the American public and to counter misinformation,” said John Babcock, spokesperson for Global Affairs Canada, who put up the billboards in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin as well as in Washington DC.

Isn’t it illegal to place lies on billboards?

Sales tax on groceries takes a bite out of a family’s food budget.

Yes. That’s why the world applies them to us but we don’t against them. 🙄

Until now… 😏

Then it’s, “Hey! Wait! Tariffs hurt you more than they do us!” 🤪

In fact, let me put it this way as an analogy.

I went to Cancun some years ago and walked by a street market and was getting ready to look at an item when another vendor yelled:

“Don’t buy his stuff! Buy mine....Same Shit but, cheaper....”

And that is how will go CanaDuh...

The Great White North is calling it an “education campaign.” …
Right; or a re-education campaign maybe?

Better move to the right some, Monsieur Poilievre. Shed that TDS and stop looking like a carbon copy of the Liberals.

The Canadian Economy is approximately 2 trillion dollars, the US economy is approximately 30 trillion dollars, nearly 70% of the Canadian foreign trade is with the US.

Think of the 2 countries are businesses, the small family run business loses its largest customer and then tells everyone the large company will be harmed more than we will.

It’s simple logic that Canada will be in a depression by the end of the year if this trade issue isn’t settled.

Canada once assumed the position for the British Empire.

It now assumes the position for the United States.

It can choose at this point to keep assuming its position for the USA or bend over for China.

It’s your choice Canada it’s frankly the truth.

Let’s give it 6 months and see if Canada still thinks that way.
