President Trump has said he will look into the status of Capitol police officer Michael Byrd.
As readers will remember, Byrd is the man who murdered January 6th protester Ashli Babbitt in cold blood.
While protesters were aggressively persecuted and imprisoned, Byrd was cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation by his superiors.
After avoiding criminal prosecution, he was given a medal by the Biden regime and has since been promoted to a higher position.
In an interview with Greg Kelly over on Newsmax, Trump was asked about Babbitt’s murder by Byrd and whether he should still be in his position.
Trump has promised to investigate.
Here is a transcript of the exchange:
KELLY: It was a bad shooting. My father can tell you that. Terrible. Anybody. It’s a terrible thing. I don’t know if you know this, but the Department of Justice right now is still kind of fighting that case.
The family of Ashley Babbitt is suing the government, wrongful death. The DOJ right now, officially, is still opposing that lawsuit, trying to justify it. Shouldn’t that be something that can just be settled at this point?
TRUMP: Well, I’ll look into that. I mean, you’re just telling me that for the first time. I haven’t heard that. I’m a big fan of Ashley Babbitt. OK, and Ashley Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there.
They even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd. And a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her. And I think it’s a disgrace. I’m going to look into that. I did not know that.
KELLY: This is a video of a man who shot her. Michael Byrd is still on duty. They gave him a raise and they gave him a medal and I believe a promotion. I think it’s a disgrace. He’s a federal employee. Would you or could you do something like that?
TRUMP: I’m going to take a look at it. I’m going to look at that too. His reputation was, I won’t even say. Let’s find out about his reputation, okay? We’re going to find out. But I watched that and I saw that.
And by the way, she was killed but nobody else was killed. And you know, the people that went down there, they had no guns. They didn’t have guns. There was something to do with the FBI.
There was something to do with Antifa and others, and it wasn’t mentioned. And there’s never been a group of people, I think, with the exception of maybe over the years, a couple of groups were treated pretty harshly, but essentially never treated so badly.
As you know, I let them out with pardons. I know you were very happy. I watch your show all the time. You were extremely happy about it. Plenty of other people were too. People don’t realize this whole movement that we have is just a, it’s a very inspiring thing, what’s happened to our country. These people are incredible people.
They were treated so unfairly, so horribly. Some of them didn’t even go into the building. And the judges, the system, the hatred, the vitriol, the prosecutors, the way they wanted to destroy these people.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Trump administration is moving to settle the $30 million wrongful death lawsuit brought against the U.S. government by the Babbitt family.
The two parties are currently negotiating the terms and hopefully we will soon hear of a satisfactory outcome.

Apparently, Byrd was nto pardoned by Biden, not even by autopen. Murder does not have a statute of limitation to my knowledge. He can be charged anytime, but it would be best to wait until after the D.C. Circuit gets abolished.

It blows my mind that he wasn’t immediately taken into custody. And he was promoted? This is the first I’m hearing about it.
Not only should he be investigated, the whole of the nations police force should be investigated for the actions they take.
I.E. The incident like the Phoenix PD where they took down a young man during 114 degree weather holding him face down on the blacktop causing 3rd degree burns.
Or, the Yuba City CA crime where they paralized a veteran....AFTER THEY HAD HIM HANDCUFFED.
Or the Independence MO incident where that cop hauled a high school kid out of his car and tazed him for an extended period of time causing his heart to stop.
A whole police dept shut down in Alabama for police brutality on an elderly man and Police criminal activities.
Its understood that one bad apple and all that but, there seems to be a LOT, of bad apples.

Officer Derek Chauvin was railroaded with state and federal crimes for merely being present when a street thug self destructed on a fentanyl overdose.
Killer Ganja Byrd needs to brought up on murder one charges. He needs to brought up on civil rights violations. He needs to brought up on conspiracy charges. Throw the book at ganja boy.
I'm surprised that President Trump's administration hasn't already taken up this pursuit of justice in this matter.

Michael Byrd is not the only officer responsible for the death of a January 6th protester. Roseanne Boyland was trampled by a crowd fleeing police attacks but then, while lying on the ground after the trampling, was beaten by a DC police officer named Lila Morris with repeated overhead strikes. I don’t know if Boyland was already dead but the beating by Officer Morris was uncalled for. Justice needs to be done here as well.

Last night Pres Trump was interviewed LIVE on Greg Kelly Show - Newsmax.
Greg told the president about Ashli Babbitt and the president noted that he did not know this and would look into it. ... then lo and behold, he’s doing something TODAY.
