Terry Bradshaw has changed political parties and he's refusing to apologize for it.
The legendary NFL quarterback, who won four Super Bowls during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, hasn't shied away from discussing politics. In fact, he's been pretty open about it. The iconic Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, like some other athletes - Danica Patrick, Charles Barkley - has actually switched political parties during his career.
Bradshaw, 76, was a longtime Republican. However, he ultimately decided to switch political parties, becoming a registered Independent voter. He has been with the Independent party for the past several years.
The former NFL great turned TV personality no longer wanted to be seen as a "Democrat" or "Republican."

Bradshaw admitted in an interview in 2020 that he had officially switched parties.
"I've been a Republican, but now I'm a registered independent. I don't want to alienate anyone, and the minute you say, “I'm a Democrat” or “I'm Republican,” you're kicking off the other side. I want the best person [in the White House], and I'll pick the one who's most like the way I feel," he told bjtonline in 2020.
Bradshaw has been critical of both sides. He was especially critical of President Trump while the POTUS was sounding off on NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem.
"This is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it's freedom. People died for that freedom. I'm not sure if our President understands those rights. That every American has the right to speak out also to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love our this great country of ours," he said.
"Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL."
As said earlier, Bradshaw isn't alone in switching political parties. Danica Patrick, the former NASCAR and IndyCar great, has also switched parties. She admitted that she's gone from being an independent to a "red-pilled" Republican.
"It felt like a calling. I'd love to hear some of your perspective on how it all feels because it's been a tidal wave of change in what you do and how people see you. Standing up for something is a powerful thing because it's when you're in your truth," Patrick said in an interview with Riley Gaines. "When you're in your truth, you're quite magnetic. It gains momentum really fast, because when we're doing what's meant for us, the universe just lines things up for us. It went really quickly for me. It was a little over a year ago that I went to my first ever political event, which was AmFest here in Phoenix.
"I didn't know who Charlie Kirk was. I never paid attention to politics and quite specially have been avoiding the news since 2018. I just watched YouTube and spiritual information, but not the news. After going to that event, I posted some photos of my sister and I. It [her post] said, 'I love this country.' That was a divisive comment to so many, which was ridiculous. I then met Tucker Carlson and went on his show in the beginning of January. I came back from Florida and Charlie reached out to go on his show. I was like, 'Well, I guess I'm in politics now.'"

Bradshaw, meanwhile, remains on the air at FOX. While his longtime broadcasting colleague, Jimmy Johnson, is retiring, Bradshaw will continue to be on the air.
He is planning on working until FOX's next Super Bowl.
“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there… I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at FOX,’ Bradshaw said at Super Bowl 59. “‘I’m 76. Okay, so it’s a young man’s game. I get that.’ Everybody wants the new. … If we can get to the next Super Bowl (on Fox) I’ll be 80. I think that’s time. Eighty years old, that’s pushing it.”
It'll be interesting to see if Bradshaw continues to discuss politics while being employed at FOX.
Will any Steelers fans run out and switch because of this?
An actually great Steeler, Lynn Swann, is a Republican, and ran for governor in 2006.
Who cares? Really.
“Independent party”?
Believe me, these athletes do love our this great country of ours,” he said.
***************
No, I don’t believe him. Bradshaw is just trying to protect the industry he works for.
I’m a registered Independent and always have been, I’m not aware of a “Independent Party”.
So Thomas Henderson was right. Bradshaw really is as dumb as a chimp.
That's like being "gender neutral."
During his playing years, wasn’t Bradshaw generally viewed as one of the dumbest QBs in the NFL?
What a pile of crap. In 2020 he caught the wave of NFL wokeism. He sniffed the winds and figured he’d align himself with Jerry Jones and the big libs of the NFL and media. Nomore no less. A political coward and opportunist.
I expect independent Terry to be now a very MAGA Jerry.
Just remember- (old joke about Bradshaw) - terry couldn’t spell
cat if you spotted him the c and the a.
Exactly. Who cares? It is his business.
So he can identify as a member of the Pantywaste party!
To weak to even pick a side in a fight.
He switched to the D's? Those poor bastards.
Honestly, I almost don’t blame him. The GOP has dropped the ball, for NO reason whatsoever, on numerous issues throughout most of my adult life when they knew better. They do not fight anywhere NEAR as hard and as dirty as Democrats do.
They are a non-Party.
Maybe he’s had a few concussions.
Agreed. I haven’t and ill will at all as a result of the switch, but why should I care?
Still is!
There actually is one. That’s why some of us are in states where the old ‘independent’ designation is now called ‘unaffiliated’:

You don’t like them, because so many of them are Christian?
I couldn’t care less how a dipshit moron like Bradshaw votes. The dumbest white guy in football.
