On Wednesday’s broadcast of NewsNation’s “The Hill,” Hawaii Gov. Josh Green (D) reacted to the Trump administration’s push to turn education over to the states by stating, “I’ll take it” as long as states don’t lose money. He also stated that, among Democrats, “there’s a lot of concern that the changes are too quick and we don’t like to see anyone lose jobs.”
Host Blake Burman asked, “So, it’s kind of interesting, because I essentially just heard the Republican president basically say, give it to the states, the governors are doing a great job. You’re a Democratic Governor. So, that’s a Republican president saying, yeah, let the Democrat, Gov. Green, in Hawaii handle Hawaii. Do you object to that?”

That’s the point....It’s a state function...not a Federal function. Fed money is simply Union Payback Money....
hochul and ilk are using it as an excuse to increase school taxes-
and strings to force federal programs on the states.
you’ll take
what you get
Note: the past several election cycles Hawaii has been trending towards the Republicans. It isn’t nearly as Blue as it was.
This governor has his wet pinky up to see which way the political wind is blowing.
50 state education labs and competition for what works best. No one in DC to blame for failure.
if there is to continue being public education, it is primarily a local function. it is up to local people to decide how much money to give it. the states may add to whatever the locals give, should the states wish.
cutting all of these improper federal expenditures will enable our federal income taxes to, finally, be eliminated (or at least replaced by a far fairer and much more efficient tax)
cutting the money that the fed goverment octopus takes from working Americans will leave them with more of their money, which they can apply to local public education as they may wish
and I am a bigtime fan of (honest) education!
“we don’t like to see anyone lose jobs.”
Unless of course they refuse to comply with our vaccine dictates.
Green is a retard. I’d love to see that jackass lose his job.
A lot of governors are owned by teacher’s unions.
Some states will have incredible success and some will fail. Look for New York to do everything possible to keep their citizens down.
After the fire a lot of people got a big shock. The federal government is inept when run by democrats.
And here I was thinking Green just washed his money through Medicaid (per his rant against President Trump). Nice of him to hand DOGE a treasure map with a big ‘X’ placed over his districts handling of education funds.
But I sympathize - ‘cause pimpin’ ain’t easy.
Yo Joshie. How did you feel when your boy, Joe Pedo, shut down the Keystone pipeline and 11,000 employees’ jobs were destroyed by that fuddy duddy bass turd, Bidenskyyyyyy?
The truth is that the majority of natives are conservative, but the rich outsiders that bought property and moved in are all very far left.
The local majority are mostly too simple to care about politics, as long as they can support their own families.
Most don’t bother voting (they also know the elections here are corrupt, so don’t bother).
This is most evident when you look back around 2019-2020 when a BLM group came to the island to cause problems/”protesting”.
In a few hours of landing, the locals went straight there and forced them back on a plane OFF of the island because they didn’t stand for any of that political cr@p.
“the changes are too quick and we don’t like to see anyone lose jobs”
Join the real world, public sector pussy.
In any other sector, your job is not considered permanent unless you are productive and show results. Some of us had to work at our job location through covid with a lot of quick changes! How do you think people got food, groceries, gas and doctor visits? Most of the teachers and others in the public sector got to sit home.
Hah - guilty of “FR Disease”: Not reading the article well enough before posting. I thought this was about that dolt from Texas who interrupted the President’s speech to Congress. My bad.
aint that the truth! Sad how much power special interest groups wield unfortunately-
ALL HAWAII public and private schools receive same funding per pupil and governed by Hawaii board of education...lots of excellent private schools.
