Restrictions Galore: Oregon Democrats Push Myriad Gun Controls
Breitbart ^ | 03/11/2025 | AWR Hawkins

Democrat lawmakers in Oregon are pushing myriad new gun controls this legislative session, including a ban on the possession of firearms by persons under the age of 21.

The Statesman Journal noted that Oregon has pivoted from its previous reputation of being a pro-gun, or at least gun-control neutral, state, to being ranked highly for gun control under Democrat governance.

For example, “[Oregon] ranks just outside the top 10 by the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (No. 11) and Everytown for Gun Safety (No. 12).”

This year’s gun control proposals include Senate Bill 697, which would ban firearm possession for persons under the age of 21. Another would put a 72-hour waiting period in place for gun purchases and yet another would “create the crime of unlawful transport, manufacture or transfer of a rapid-fire activator, a device attached to a firearm to increase the trigger rate and mimic automatic weapon fire.”

It will work this time don't you know. Criminals will just lay down their weapons and obey. (S)

It would not be at all surprising if this latest Oregonian gun legislation had a carve out for using guns and bombs against Tesla products and facilities. Any and all such acts are absolutely supported by the Oregonian wackos.

So an 18 year old can fight for our country but can’t protect his family, or a 14 year old can’t go hunting anymore. what kind of stupid crap is this. Talking about a State that needs flushed out, Oregon is right at the top.

This state needs an enema!!!
I think the issue of succession may become a hot topic for those eastern counties
again. The lunatic left destroys everything it touches.

The "Greater Idaho" movement has been seeking to make eastern Oregon part of Idaho. I suspect most of this anti-gun sentiment is from coastal cities. A recent thread on Facebook exposed another fly in the ointment for the movement. Eastern Oregon residents are Medicaid dependent at a much higher rate than Idaho. Further, they don't bring a lot to the table economically. Idaho might gain another rep in Congress, but it wouldn't be a net positive economically for the state. The left/right political balanced would likely be changed very little.

Democrat/Communists destroy everything they touch. Democrat/Communists in Oregon are targeting Liberty and the US Constitution with this latest attempt at tyranny.

BS. Oregon elections are among the most corrupt in the US. I’ve lived here for a long time. OR stated all mail in voting in 1995. Illegals are given voter registration cards. We DO are. And every gun restriction law or ballot measure is overturned by federal judges. Once the illegals are out and not voting, and elections are honest, many “blue” states are going to be very, very different.

Oregon, like numerous blue states, is dominated by a large left wing city or two. If Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Charlotte had their election systems cleaned up, eight blue to purple states would turn red.

Washington state and CA both have filthy elections just like Oregon.

Honest elections with only citizens voting will change many states.
