California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a pioneer for LGBTQ+ rights who decades ago upset leaders in his own party when he defied state law and issued marriage licenses to same-sex couples, suggested Democrats were in the wrong in allowing transgender athletes to participate in female college and youth sports.
“I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair,” Newsom said in his debut podcast episode of “This is Gavin Newsom.” “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”

Gov. Handsome will burn through the primary field and torch his opponents. It will be a wildfire of a primary campaign.
After all, Gov. Handsome has plenty of experience burning entire cities to the ground.
Someone is trying to sound like they have common sense. Its the 80-20 issues and he’s trying to grab ahold of the 80 percent.
I am reminded of republicans during the Roosevelt era. Many tried to align themselves lightly with FDR when running to stay in office so this effect is not unknonwn.
Gavin is my gov and I disagree with everything he stands for and does, but if he acts smart on these 80-20 issues he will find himself nicely positioned for 2028 primaries.

I’d bet good money he doesn’t get the nomination. Supposedly good looking, but his looks have sort of a predatory look. Unpleasant speaking voice. Horrible record. I’m putting my early marker down on Andy Beshear, governor of Kentucky: good looks, which is everything to the other side. Arguably successful record. Can plainly disguise himself as moderate

Girls playing sports is not the core issue, although it involves the core issue.
The core issue is organizing society and the professions so that you will be forced to speak a lie with your mouth or be punished.
Compelled lying in front of your children at the cost of your job, your license, or your family’s engagement in school or community activities is MUCH MUCH more damaging than cheating in a sporting event

He’s not wrong on this, it’s an 80/20 issue and it is the correct side of the issue.
Gavin’s still got ambitions for 2028, despite allowing Pacific Palisades and much of Malibu to burn to the ground. Given the state of the Democrat Party, he may actually still be a front runner.

"Fairness" is only part of it. Safety of players is at least as important.
