Over the weekend, President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk made quite a stir with just two words posted on his social media platform, X. Responding to a post that, “It’s time to leave NATO and the UN,” Musk replied, “I agree.” The comment immediately made the rounds on social media and also on mainstream and alternative media. Was this the Elon Musk who owns X speaking, or was it the Elon Musk who has become one of President Trump’s closest advisors? Does it even matter? Having someone so close to the US president who advocates finally extracting the US from these international organizations is a significant and very positive shift for the United States. With the truth coming out about how USAID has been working against US interests for decades, the disinfectant of public scrutiny is now turning to our membership in – and generous funding of – international organizations like NATO and the United Nations. I have long advocated our exit from NATO. At the end of the Cold War, with its very reason for existence gone, NATO decided to look for other ways of stirring up trouble. First NATO involved itself in the first Gulf War and then it decided its mission should be to bomb Serbia to smithereens – in the name of “human rights.” I agree with the late Sen. Robert Taft, who argued at the time NATO was formed that we should not join the “Atlantic Alliance.”

My recollection is that when the Berlin Wall came down and Germany was reunified, a warehouse was found in East Germany with street signs printed in Russian and corresponding to streets in West Germany.
NATO, like Unions, were once necessary. Now it’s just a way to spend American blood and treasure for people unwilling to defend themselves.

The only difference is since we’ve been in NATO, we have been stupid enough to pay for everything and everybody. Our NATO “Allies” have been leeching off us and taking advantage of us.
We have the “privilege” of paying for their defense AND their social programs (free healthcare, etc.).

Personal opinion (probably just a reflection of the anxiety we've all been living in for the last several years) is that the UN needs to physically relocate. For some reason, I find myself thinking lately that if we don't get them off American soil very soon, we're going to share in their fate. (Which, I don't think will be a good one).

But everything the Euroweenies do make it easier for Trump to walk away with little political pushback from the majority that gave him a popular vote victory.
IF the EU presses on into the Ukraine debacle as they claim they will, at some point, there’ll be an attack on a so-called “NATO infrastructure”, and we’ll end up being drawn into the fight by this stupid treaty that should have been abandoned years ago.. Get out now, while we can, and let em have at it over there as froggy as they they think they can be.
IMHO, we’ve had to bail em out twice over there at great expense and blood. We should not do it again, especially where they’re now abandoing freedom for their very own people....screw these socialist basstids.

It’s for laundering US taxpayer money to prop up Western Europe’s welfare states.

We should also recall that it was multinational treaties that sucked Europe, and eventually the US, into WWI.
