New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams announced Monday the Roosevelt Hotel, notorious for being turned into a shelter for migrants, will be shut down over the next few months.
In a statement, the mayor said “Today marks another milestone in demonstrating the immense progress we have achieved in turning the corner on an unprecedented international humanitarian effort,” Fox News reported.
“Now, thanks to the sound policy decisions of our team, we are able to announce the closure of this site and help even more asylum seekers take the next steps in their journeys as they envision an even brighter future, while simultaneously saving taxpayers millions of dollars,” he exclaimed.

“...over the next few months.” Sounds like he’s giving the miggies time to trash the place and haul off all the furniture.

I wonder:
How much will it cost to refurbish the place after they get all of the illegals out? AND ....
Is this decision prompted by the $59 Million that the feds clawed back recently?
After all, it is a sound decision to stop renting out a place if the tenant is not going to pay the rent.

I stayed at that hotel a few years ago. It was an older hotel, but beautiful! So sad what has happened to it.

Decades ago, and right after my marriage, my wife and I stayed at the Roosevelt for one night before heading off to our honeymoon. It was a very bad experience then and the hotel still seems to be a roach motel now. Stunk badly and the roaches wanted to partake in our honeymoon. They should have torn down that building ages ago.
