The most famous structure and institution that bears its name, the Kennedy Center, is now being run on an interim basis by Richard Grenell, one of the Trump’s closest allies.
And when it gets reformed, who’ll be one of the first acts playing there? According to Steve Bannon’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, it’ll be the J6 Prison Choir.
The group, which is comprised of men who spent time behind bars for their roles in the Jan. 6. 2021 Capitol incursion, has been invited to the Kennedy Center by Grenell, according to Bannon.

Pinch me and tell me I’m not dreaming, NPR should be forced to do wall to wall coverge of this event.
I have no idea what you are talking about. Bannon has been speaking to J 6ers non stop on his CPAC shows. It has been absolutely incredible to hear these stories. What the government did is beyond belief. And Steve Bannon is letting these people tell their stories
Quite a few held in a jail right in the middle of Washington DC.
A choir with a number one hit on Billboard's Digital Song Sales in March of 2023:

Please let this be true!
The Leftist angst will be off the charts, it will be fun to watch.
Bannon is indeed a treasure.
That’s absolutely awesome.
Well, the idea fir a National Cultural Arts Center was Pres Eisenhowrs (abd one of the theaters there is named The Eisehower Theater) and was an act of Congress to bulldogs it on government land. It was not finalized as a plan begire his term ended, so Jackie Kennedy took over and after JFK was assassinated the name Kennedy Center was given. Eisenhower family was not happy which is why there was a compromise to name a theater within the KC after him. Jackie spent many years working on the Center which opened in 1971. It’s now a cultural center and museum which has been more recent. The KC is funded only about 20% by tax dollars and that is mainly to pay for upkeep, etc. on the land which the govt owns. The rest is paid by donations and ticket sales.

Yes. Before posting, Ia bit about the Kennedy Center. What you said is true. But I would argue that even 20% is too much. The federal government should not be in the entertainment business.
Side note: We obviously disagree on this. Yet your posts to me have been have been pleasant. I appreciate that. And I have tried to do the same.
(Cordial discussions are not always the case here on FR!)
You can have the last word if you wish.

We did have it in 2020 until the 3 am fake ballot dumps
Well, thank you. I appreciate your measured response as well.
As for the last word, lol!, I don’t need it other than to say that the 20% really is about the land that is owned by the govt. It’s like the Smithsonian. Either it becomes totally private and the land gets sold to whomever or it gets bulldozed. I’m not in favor of either of those, but it remains to be seen as to what will happen.
Have a nice evening.
No, that’s what he’s saying from late Nov up until a few weeks from inauguration. Guess he was wrongly waiting for the courts or some whistleblower. After a while though, it seemed like he was just stringing along his “posse” so he wouldn’t lose viewers.
Ted Nugent! The Motor City Madman! Yes!
Bannon goes on trial March 4th in NY State court unless he get another continuance.
He may need to turn over the podcasting to someone else for a while.
