Pope Francis’ hospital treatment dealing with ‘complex clinical’ condition, Vatican says

CNN — Pope Francis has a “polymicrobial infection” of his respiratory tract that will require his hospital treatment to be changed, the Vatican said Monday, with tests indicating a “complex clinical picture” for one of the oldest popes in the church’s history.

The test results implied a further change in treatment requiring “adequate hospitalization” for the 88-year-old pontiff – who has long been plagued by a string of lung-related medical struggles.

“The results of the tests carried out in recent days and today have demonstrated a polymicrobial infection of the respiratory tract that has led to a further change in therapy,” the Vatican said in a statement.

Perhaps what we should be praying for is a deathbed conversion of Francis to the concept and grace of Jesus Christ, and a renunciation of the Faustian pact that Francis had made some time in the past with Satan, before the poker hand is called in.

LORD, You alone know why the wicked sometimes live to a ripe old age; in Your mercy, I assume it is to give them time to repent. None of us deserve Your mercy, no not one. But I thank You that Your mercy endures forever, and it is not Your will that any should perish. Of course, unless we repent and receive You, we will perish. I pray that You would reveal yourself to the Pope in a way such that he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt, who You are and that he must repent, if he is to be saved from damnation. Whether or not he recovers is not the most important thing, but it would certainly be a blessing if he did recover as well as repent.
