Refinery Fire Sends California Gas Prices Soaring to Nearly $5 per Gallon
Breitbart ^ | 02/16/2025 | Joel B Pollack

Gas prices are soaring in California — again — thanks to a refinery fire that has choked supply, sending average prices to $5 per gallon, and even higher in the northern regions of the state.

Los Angeles’ KTLA-5 reported:

The average price of gas in California has skyrocketed in recent weeks, and is flirting with the dreaded $5 mark.

According to AAA, the average price of regular gas in California was $4.84 on Saturday. That number was up about 25 cents from last Saturday and 44 cents from one month ago.

California insists on its own formula for gasoline, which means any time you have a plant down for maintenance or a fire, or whatever, you have a fuel shortage. You can’t simply bring fuel from out of state to make up the shortfall, that would be too simple.

For the last few years I have suggested that because of the heightened tensions between the looney left and us normals, it would be prudent to harden the security at places like refineries, large food production facilities, etc. The left (inclusive of the O’Biden cartel) have demonstrated that they are not above destroying such production centers ... for the cause don’cha know.

But ... but ... but ... I thought that’s what the Progressives wanted in California: no petroleum products. Now if only the oil companies took them at their word and refused to ship ANY petroleum products to the Golden (Shower) State ...

Gee, I’m confused. Gas prices go up within a couple of weeks of a refinery fire, but when there’s a decrease in the price of crude oil it takes months before we see the decrease in the price of gasoline. Perhaps it’s a California phenomenon under Newsom the Vile?

It has occurred to me that I do not understand how California gets away with this behavior. The state seems to violate federal control of interstate commerce with impunity.

Which tells you Kalifornicatia is getting $2/gal in taxes, which they promptly waste on welfare for illegals.

A concept that most leftists don't seem to understand.

Did they mention the charges coming on board of the CARB, California Air Resources Board?

Did they mention the automatic fuel mix increase cost coming in July?

Did they mention how Gavin has regulated out of the state MULTIPLE refineries?

Did they mention the automatic gas tax that occurs?

Newsom is quite possibly the most destructive governor ever and I wonder how bad does it have to get before the idiot libs see him for what he is?
