Egg shortages force some grocery stores to impose limits

With eggs in short supply, some retailers around the country are putting limits on the number of cartons customers can buy at one time.

The discount grocery store Lidl told a New York news outlet that certain brands of eggs sold at its stores are limited to two dozen per customer.

"Specialty egg brands, including cage-free, free-range and organic, do not have limitations at this time at Lidl US," Lidl told News 12.

Some customers in parts of Massachusetts were also subject to a two-carton limit, as Reddit users shared on a message board in late January.

The egg shortages are likely to continue sporadically into the future, Emily Metz, president and CEO of the American Egg Board, told Fox News Digital.

Doubt it will in Michigan. I believe BIg greTCH signed a decree that all eggs in Michigan must be cage free, and it also seems that every six months or so for the past couple of years there’s a bird flu scare and chickens get culled. Tired of this crap.

True. MI is, as of the first of January, a cage free state. I talked to a local egg farm owner that produces 2M eggs a day and he stated that the new regulations have tripled production costs. He also commented on the wreckage the avian flu has, but this to shall pass.

The good thing about about eggs is they have an expiration date - - they can’t be hoarded like toilet paper

From what I heard recently, a Bird Flu property is quarantined for 5 months after contagion is cleared. And, a new-born egg-laying chick starts producing 6 months after birth. So it looks like a year or so of this crisis, unless the illegals poison more chickens.

There isn’t a chicken shortage, just an egg shortage. Either they’re trans gendering hens or this is another planned game.

And apparently brown eggs are still plentiful, it seems like no body wants brown eggs-even if there is no real difference between them and white eggs.
