Sen. Bill Cassidy (R), a physician-turned-politician from deep-red Louisiana, has emerged as a central figure in the confirmation fight over Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
Over the course of six hours in two hearings, Cassidy indicated he holds serious doubts about whether Kennedy is qualified to lead the agency, casting a cloud of uncertainty over Kennedy’s path to confirmation.
“I have been struggling with your nomination,” Cassidy told Kennedy at the end of Thursday’s Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing.
He said the pivotal question is if Kennedy will use his massive following and national prominence to support public health or undermine it.
“And I got to figure that out for my vote,” Cassidy said.
Cassidy gave Kennedy numerous opportunities Thursday to renounce his prior false claims that vaccines cause autism, at times practically pleading with Kennedy to disavow the link.
“Man, if you come out unequivocally, ‘Vaccines are safe, it does not cause autism,’ that would have an incredible impact,” Cassidy said.
But Kennedy, who has renounced his previous views on abortion to align with President Trump, refused to do so.
“If you show me data,” Kennedy said, “I will be the first person to assure the American people that they need to take those vaccines.”

Any Senator who opposes RFK Jr. is telling the whole world they are a ‘sex worker’ for the Pharma Industry.
Kennedy’s enemy is obvious. Pharma is the force behind his opposition. He hurt their COVID drama.
Give a kid one vaccine at a time and everything will probably be OK.
Give a kid ten or fifteen vaccines at a time and you are giving him/her ten or fifteen times the adjuvants.

...by which he meant, like with Cornyn and Gabbard, it's pay to play / quid pro quo.
He has not been paying attention to ANYTHING RFK Jr has been saying then.
This indicates to me that this former doctor is a paid off big pharma shill.

But this "doctor" cannot assure us that vaccines are safe and do not cause autism. While the link has never been definitively proved, neither has it been definitively disproved. The fact that the doctor isn't open to the possibility that they could play a role in it and that he seems to think vaccines are (unequivocally) safe is very concerning.
Any republicans voting against Kennedy are pharmaceutical company parasites.
They are destroying the quality of medical care and raising costs.
Only drug companies can afford to run boring 5 minute commercials because they are making billions! Many of the commercials are misleading too especially when depicting quality of life on certain very expensive drugs.
What I don’t get is why these senators want to bully and cajole nominees and get them to disavow their positions publicly comparable to a public shaming or humiliation
They did it with Tulsi Gabbard as well (I watched that one).
Live and let live I say. No one is perfect and wont agree with you on everything.
The Senate’s job is not to vet them to perfection.
I noticed the pattern that Republican senators questioned them on their current stand and what their intended actions were going to be.
Democrats misrepresented things they said or did in the past and personally attacked them for it. All democrats did was engage in character assassination.
Trump should tell the republicans that if they reject RFK, he will nominate Naomi Wolf.

You are getting at the key point, that too much of even a good thing can be bad and that individual patient circumstances and susceptibility matter — especially with an intense schedule of vaccine administration.

He’s a hell of a lot more qualified than ANY of Obunghole’s, or Biden’s picks were.
