Catholic Organizations and Open Borders

[SNIP]

This week more religious organizations thrust themselves into politics. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s Refugee & Immigration Services Program uploaded a video that guides illegal aliens in the country illegally on how to dodge US immigration law. In the video, immigration attorney Barbara Graham advises illegal aliens on how to thwart authorities conducting lawful investigations at their workplaces.

“Do not panic, and do not run away. If you are frightened and feel like you need to leave, you can calmly walk toward the exit,” Graham advised.

“If you are stopped, you may ask if you are free to leave. If the officer says no, do not try to exit the building. If you are questioned, you may tell them you want to remain silent,” she continued.

Graham also advises illegal aliens to “refuse to show identify documents,” refuse to say what country they are from, and refuse to sign any paperwork without an attorney present.

According to a ProPublica audit of Catholic Charities USA’s finances, the 114-year-old organization received just shy of $2 million in federal grants in 2021.

According to the New York Times, the group’s local affiliates were taking in a total of nearly $2.9 billion annually from the government -- representing about 62% of its $4.67 billion annual revenue in 2010.

The Catholic Charities USA's website, which looks like it's run by liberal activists, offers services such as Citizenship Application, DACA Application, DACA Renewal, Deportation Defense for Green Card Holders, Deportation Defense for Non-Lawful Permanent Residents, etc.

The Catholic Charities USA isn’t the only Catholic group to advocate open borders.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) also criticized President Trump's executive orders relating to immigration and capital punishment, claiming it would harm “the most vulnerable among us.”

Treason in my book; not “charity”.

How can U.S. Catholicism sustain itself? Must import more Catholics. It’s than simple. Minus the explosion of immigration from Latin America, I believe the U.S. Catholic church would have gone the way of the mainline Protestants. About half of U.S. Catholics are immigrants and a majority of them from Latin America.

Roman Catholic Teddy Kennedy swore that there was no such goal in the immigration changes he pushed through Congress. The results prove he was lying.

My oldest brother was a Permanent Deacon in the RC Church. He is now deceased. He told us [the family] he never donated to the national Catholic Charities office nor the Catholic Relief Services. He aways donated to the local Catholic Charities, ie. within the local diocese. He expressed reservations about the national programs and how they were handled and administered.

In fact, my brother was the chief force behind the new Food Shelf in his small town. He was a great man, and he had a generous heart.

In my diocese and in most I believe that is bad advice. Donate to the maintenance fund and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. Perhaps to the retirement fund for nuns and any local RC school that operates as though they believe...if you can find one.

Locally known as Catholic Socialist Services.

The Goal set reads like a Marxist pamphlet.

President Trump issued an order to cut all government contracts with NGOS that promote illegal immigration. I saw a quote that “Catholic Charities” is looking at a $1.6 billion cut in funding

WHY is the US Government funding Alt Left political organizations at all?

This week more religious organizations thrust themselves into politics.

CORRECTION: These are not religious organizations. They are rackets that stay in business by using the power of government to rip off taxpayers.

Catholic Charities, for example, has lost a number of landmark court cases where it failed to meet several different standards that are used by courts to determine if an organization is truly a religious one.

Catholic Social Services is utterly despicable. They’re the one who imported all those unvetted Afghan “refugees” into Alaska. I despise those miserable cretins with all my heart.

They all need to lose their tax exempt status.

And those giving this advice be arrested for aiding and abetting and maybe harboring illegal aliens.

well, learning that those primatives are languishing in a colder climate DOES make my heart soar like an eagle..

But I’m sorry you are subjected to them..

Hereabouts, we have little people who speak with clicking sounds, but quickly learn how their RBT cards work and get fat, and bedecked in $200 sneakers and orange hair.
