Gov. Kathy Hochul will unveil her most costly budget proposal ever Tuesday, with the $252 billion plan set to continue jacking up spending to fund new handouts.

Hochul’s executive proposal is $19 billion, or 8.3%, larger than last year’s proposal and $36 billion, or 16% higher, than her first plan in 2022. The 2024-25 state budget is expected to cost $240 billion as of the end of the third quarter of last year.

New handouts and tax cuts paired with continued boosts in school aid and Medicaid are driving the ballooning budget.

“The big two would be Medicaid and school aid, as ever,” said Blake Washington, Hochul’s budget director.

Literally the less tax revenue she is now generating the more she raises taxes, totally clueless about the Laffer curve.

Just keep paying more taxes to enrich your corrupt masters New York. Your Queen is not yet satiated with a high enough comfort of living. (hint, she never will be)

Congress can override Trump’s vetoes.

No doubt that’s what Hochul’s counting on.

NYS needs to be DOGEd.

Both on the state and local level.

Here's an idea: People are leaving NY because of high taxes, so let's propose a huge increase in spending to entice them to stay and let the next governor worry about how to pay for it.

And therein is the problem: Politicians view the long run as a place to hide their mistakes, with the long run being viewed as a point in time where their term of office ends. Then, when the problems are revealed, it always the fault of the legislators (who let me get away with it!)

Florida has more people than NY and its yearly budget is less than half of the NY budget.

Meanwhile the tax base is packing moving vans and getting on I95 for Florida and I90 to Texas. Leaving those who can’t leave to pick up the governor’s bar tab.

The State of Florida has a larger population than New York and their most recent State budget is 116.5 billion about 50% of the New York budget

Will New Yorkers ever learn enough to quit voting for people like this? I’m skeptical.

The machine is in steal mode for many decades. How frustrating to see a map after voting and seeing 95 percent of the state red and Manhattan and the five boroughs blue, they win you lose, again

They convince themselves they need immigrants to fuel the economy. They never account for the cost of supporting immigrants (this is a recent obligation, not afforded to immigrants of the past).

They're digging a hole.
