Nato’s newest members are moving to close the Baltic Sea to Russian ships in wartime. Sweden has just deployed a new anti-ship missile that ranges far enough to keep Russian ships from leaving Saint Petersburg or Kaliningrad and, by extension, leaving the Baltic to reach the North Sea and the wider Atlantic Ocean.
The ripples from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the subsequent enlargement of Nato, continue to spread.
In late December, the Swedish defense ministry tapped Swedish defense firm Saab to supply the Swedish armed forces with the new Mark 3 version of the RBS 15 anti-ship missile. “Sweden will receive a significant capability increase with an anti-ship missile featuring a more advanced target seeker, increased range and a larger warhead,” said Görgen Johansson, a Saab executive.

Look at the idiots in Finland and Sweden. Before the Project Ukraine calamity they were neutral, prosperous and trading with their natural trading partner, Russia. Thanks to NATO, they are now engaged in a suicidal, multi trillion dollar generational arms race and economic war with Russia and its BRICS allies. Neither Sweden, nor Finland, had any intention of joining NATO until the Russians invaded Ukraine.

Finland and Sweden would’ve stayed neutral until they lost patience with:
1. Russian jets violating their air space.
2. Russian ships dragging anchors through their undersea cables.
3.Russian cyber crime gangs backed by the Kremlin attacking their hospitals.
4. Russian state TV, parroting the party line, repeatedly demanding war on those neutral countries.
5. Russia parking its nukes within 50 miles of their on their border. (While falsely claiming exaggerated butthurt over NATO one day possibly putting nukes in... Eastern Poland?)

The article refers to wartime. The Baltic is not being closed to peacetime movements of naval or commercial maritime traffic.
The batteries in Cuba in 1962 were Russian, not Cuban, and were nukes with no defensive purpose.

Russia need not make war—just wait for elections to put pro-Russian Governments in power. To get Russian Gas and Oil they will end sanctions, sell out Ukraine and make a deal.
