J. Alexander Kueng, one of the four former Minneapolis police officers tried over the death of George Floyd, is scheduled to be released from prison on Wednesday. Kueng, who had been serving a three-and-a-half-year sentence for aiding and abetting manslaughter, is set to leave the low-security Elkton Correctional Institution in Ohio.
His release was confirmed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which noted that federal inmates typically serve 85 percent of their sentences but "there is leeway with the First Step Act and other factors."
According to the Minnesota Department of Corrections, Kueng will return to Minnesota and be put under supervised release. State law says that most offenders serve two-thirds of their sentences in prison and then the remainder of the sentence is on supervised release. Kueng will be under supervised release until March 2026.

Ditto. George Floyd wasn't murdered.
Yes, but the lie has been told too many times and has become the “truth” the lefties cling to. “...the murder of George Floyd...” has been put out there too often. Low-information individuals believe it now.
For the legal beagles - does he have any legal recourse against the city or state that would award him some significant financial compensation?
Exactly.
It was the drugs that killed Fentanyl Floyd.

It’s doubtful. Not in MN.
I’ve seen the full video of this officer’s actions. Honestly, it is more of a travesty of justice than what they did to Derek Chauvin. He literally was just physically keeping the hostile crowd back.
I hope so.......guess some of these idiots realize the Trump administration isn’t going to put up with this crap and will act on ANYONE who thinks of protesting and destroying! Kick Minnesots outta the Union just like Kalifornia.....worthless!!!
Fentanyl O.D. was such an obvious and strong defense, I cannot believe that any of them would NOT use it.
A guilty verdict would have been appealed all the way to the Supreme Court.
They would probably have been on home confinement for the entire appeal process for something so obvious and so quantifiable.
I agree, Floyd was on drugs and already in poor health which caused his death. The conviction was political.
And here will come BLM riots.
You might be thinking of Tou Thao, who was a different officer.
Chauvin was busy following Minneapolis police manual guidelines.
No crime was ever committed. Chauvin needs to be pardoned and paid.
The Judge and jury that convicted this man should be sent to prison.
I hope he goes to a good trade school and learns a skill, like electrician, carpenter, welding, heavy equipment operator, HVAC tech and then gets a good paying job, rebuilds his life and moves on.
The whole thing was a sham. All officers should be released. Google The Fall of Minneapolis and see the truth.
Maybe he should write a book too.
Alex Keung is the second one released. Thomas Lane was released in August 2024. Tou Thao is supposed to be released in November. Of course, Chauvin is still in prison.
Compare their sentences to these other cops in Minnesota: The cop who shot and killed Fernando Castile after questioning him for 40 seconds was found not guilty. The cop who shot and killed Justine Damond when she walked up to the patrol car served only 3 years in prison.
