Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), who headed Congress’s special investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, said Tuesday that he has been in talks with the White House about presidential pardons.
His comments confirmed a report, published hours earlier by Punchbowl News, that Thompson had at least one conversation in December with the White House counsel’s office about a potential pardon. He emphasized that he wasn’t lobbying for any special favors.
“It wasn’t preemptive,” Thompson said. “We had a discussion about pardons. It wasn’t a particular pardon. … I said for me, as a member of the committee, if one is offered, I would accept it.”

Thompson should not get a pardon. It is treason.

Ok. You didn’t talk about a pardon for you but said if there was a pardon for you that you’d take it? Got it. Kamala would be proud of that bit of circumlocution

no...let him\them all get a pardon. How does it not come with an admission of guilt?
SOTH Johnson said there will be an investigation of the J6 committee.
I'm guessing the results of that investigation should allow those convicted to appeal based on reversible error.
The judges involved should also be investigated.
"Judicial Councils, which oversee the conduct of federal judges, and the Judicial Conference, which oversees the Councils, can only investigate sitting judges: 28 U.S.C. § 351(d)(1) states that only “a circuit judge, district judge, bankruptcy judge, or magistrate judge” may be investigated and punished."
So the judges involved can avoid investigation by retiring.
All guilt looking stuff would be in favor of the J6ers that were convicted.
Hey...I can dream, can't I ?

I thought you at least had to be charged before you could be pardoned.

Thompson should be CRUCIFIED by the media. This is a tacit admission of guilt of illegal activity. Thompson and Cheney both should have a special counsel appointed and their lives turned inside out. It is clear that Cheney Obstructed Justice and Witness Tampered. I'll bet Thompson knew and participated in it with her.

I’ll bet there’s a long line at Braindead’s door - people asking/begging for pardons.

No, President Ford pardoned Nixon even though Nixon had not been charged with any crimes yet.

Thompson is a zit on the butt of the state of Mississippi. He’s an absolute embarrassment to this state and I can’t fathom how this clown keeps getting returned to office, but yet there he is. What an absolute disgusting disgrace of a human being.

Suspect on Friday January 17, 2025 , Biden will issue pardons for Thompson, Cheney, Wray ,Garland, Jack Smith, Mayorkas, Schiff, his brother and even possibly Menendez. Strongly suspect Menendez knows quite a bit about Biden and has photos.

The j6 committee looking for pardons ? Why ?
Put the issue to rest ?
Then no one gets punished.
Most of them got railroaded.
A pardon comes with an admission of guilt
I’d rather see them get clemency and released for time served.
They should be able to then appeal their convictions.
If they can’t get the convictions overturned then pardon them.
All that are still in prison without being indicted ? Release them and drop charges with prejudice.
And while we are at it, bring murder charges against Michael Byrd.
How long would this take ? Probably no longer than to the mid-terms.

You would think they would love to prove in court how “truthful” and “honest” their committee was LOL.
