We have multiple reports of water hydrants in Southern California running out of water as devastating wildfires rip through the Los Angeles area threatening tens of thousands of homes.
“The hydrants are down,” said one firefighter battling the flames in the Pacific Palisades per the far-left Los Angeles Times. “Water supply just dropped,” said a second firefighter.
“A spokesman for the Department of Water and Power acknowledged reports of diminished water flow from hydrants,” continues the report, “but did not have details on the number of hydrants without water or the scale of the issue.”

Likely will spread, they have no way to make a fire break and no water to direct the fire.
I suspect this will get MUCH worse.
Maybe if they man up and literally bulldoze a large swath of housing and businesses further down, but Dems have no spine to do anything correctly.
All that water in the ocean..
Jan 21 the mediawhores make this Trump’s fault.........
This whole incident is going to be a nice resume builder for Newsom’s presidential run in 2028.
I can wait to see Vance beat him senseless over this one.
The article says funds were diverted from needed improvements in infrastructure, including water, to projects such as High-speed Rail.
Democrats f up everything they touch.
Salt water (e.g., ocean water) works as well in firefighting as fresh water.
Or maybe it doesn’t. Maybe the minerals clog lines and pumps. Not my area of expertise.
Ocean water? Are you kidding? What about the endangered sea plankton? No, the environmental damage would be too high. Think of our grandkids.

Democrat Karen Bass LA Mayor still in Ghana as City Burns
Published Jan 08, 2025, Newsweek
Black DEI item, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, has been criticized after it emerged she was out of the country, attending a presidential inauguration in Ghana, as northern and western suburbs of her city were hit by devastating wildfires fanned by high winds.
Three wildfires on the outskirts of Los Angles have burned more than 4,000 acres according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, with Evacuation Orders from the state agency requiring thousands of residents to leave their homes.
Bass was elected in the 2022 Los Angeles mayoral election, defeating billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso, a fellow Democrat, with 43.1 percent of the vote against 36 percent. The mayor has since been criticized over levels of street crime, raising questions about her 2026 reelection hopes.
Bass is in Ghana as part of a four-member tax-paid U.S. presidential delegation attending the inauguration of new Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama.
She has come under attack for not returning to the U.S. sooner in response to the infernos, with Caruso telling local network Fox 11 that there had been a “failure” of leadership and management adding that “everybody knew these winds were coming” so the risk should have been anticipated.

Caruso also questioned why brush in the hills surrounding Los Angeles hadn’t been removed to reduce the fire risk and claimed a “reservoir was not refilled in time and in a timely manner to keep the hydrants going,” which he blamed on the mayor’s henchmen.
doing a google search...it looks like Saltwater is just fine for expediantly fighting fires...its the long term corroesive effects on the equipment that make it less desirable.
So...in a pinch, they could use it...they just need to deep clean and flush out their stuff afterwards
“If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.”

Only CA can be sitting next to a huge ocean and run out of water. Sea water puts out fires just fine....
I wonder how we could ever get that sea water to land...maybe we should appoint a committee of chimps to work on it....
Wildfire Rages Out of Control
City burns uncontrollably.
Thousands flee for their lives.
Scores of homes consumed.
But there’s No water pressure to fight the fire.
LA Firefighters Have huge Issues with Water Pressure
Hydrants Are bone Dry
The govt forgot to refill the Reservoirs.
The DEI Mayor is in Africa on a tax-paid jaunt.
It is doubtful she’d know what to do.
Kamala Harris’ home in the fire range is under evacuation order.
DEI obsession extends to the useless fire department.
Lesbian fire chief is nowhere to be found.......possibly bar-hopping
Thanks for the info. So, pump out of the ocean!
What does the saltwater do to the soil (not agriculture in LA but gardens, trees)?
LA’s Fire Department Embraced DEI. And the City Burned.

Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley is used to shattering glass ceilings. She isn’t just the first LGBTQ+ person to the lead the department, but also the first woman.
“Countless people come up and say because you’re out there being who you are and your proud of who you are, that gives them strength,” said Crowley. “I am different, but there’s a lot of difference everywhere in the world. Within

You pull all that water out of the ocean and Guam will not just tip over, it will start spinning like a flipped coin.
Sorry, that would need a 3 year, $100 million environment, race and diversity impact study, and permit process. Maybe we'll ask for matching Federal funds for that too. The mayor's brother will be leading the commission.
And there will be opposition, so expect several court cases also
If approved, it might be ready in 2031.
Fair question. I never thought of that angle. I suspect it would be similar to the biblical 'salting the fields' that various conquerors did to their vanquished nations. Perhaps that's why it isn't on the radar.
A 4th fire has started at the northern end of Woodley ave in the San Fernando Valley.
