Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) described recent talks about the United States acquiring Greenland as being a “responsible conversation.”
During an interview on Fox News on Tuesday, Fetterman admitted that while he “would never support” taking Greenland “by force,” it would be a “responsible conversation” to talk about acquiring Greenland from Denmark, including “buying it outright.”
Fetterman’s words come after President-elect Donald Trump has previously stated that the U.S. taking ownership of Greenland is an “absolute necessity” for national security and freedom.
“There’s a lot of talk about Greenland, for example, and, I know there’s a lot of freakouts and of course, I would never support taking it by force,” Fetterman said. “But, I do think it’s a responsible conversation if they were open to acquiring it, you know, whether just buying it outright.”

Good gosh. This guy is a Leftist construct, elected when he could barely talk or cognate effectively, and if you read his history, a real Leftist to the core.
And he sounds like the sanest one on that side. Makes me shake my head at what they have become.
I still say shun him, he’s a snake and he will strike when it suits him. He is a two faced devil with evil intentions. Do not trust this Fetterman.
Makes me wonder if he was 'replaced'.
His name is Fettermen, right?
"To me, this is a simple issue: every American should be represented by elected officials looking out for the people, not lining their own pockets. Nearly every issue we face as a country is caught up in the influence of big money, and I'm fighting to pass tough new laws to make sure Members of Congress aren't bought and paid for by special interests and multinational corporations.
But it isn't just about bribes and payouts. I'm committed to putting real teeth into our anti-corruption and ethics laws. Members of Congress shouldn't be able to use the information we're given as elected officials to get rich on stock trades or other investments – because Members of Congress shouldn't be able to hold individual stocks at all.
From the beginning of my career, I made the promise to push for reforms that ban members of Congress from holding or trading stocks because lawmakers should not be making profits off of the same companies they are supposed to be regulating. Cosponsoring the ETHICS Act showed my commitment to ensuring just that.
As Pennsylvanians have seen for years, powerful interests too often get what they want despite public opposition, while at the same time, reforms supported by so many Pennsylvanians never get across the finish line. For example, the public supports limiting the amount of money spent on campaigns, with 72% saying there should be limits on spending by individuals and organizations.
Corruption in our government is no joke. As elected officials, we have a responsibility to hold ourselves to a higher standard, and anyone who thinks otherwise is flat wrong. My promise to you is simple: I will continue to fight to ensure your elected officials are focused on doing what's best for your family and your community, not their own bank account. We must do everything we can to maintain and protect our democracy."

Thanks for sharing
I am not even sure anymore.
Fetterman continues to surprise on the up-side. Is it all a ruse? I’d say there’s only a 20% chance of that.
Why so low a number? For one thing, Fetterman went after corrupt Sen. Menendez - a member of his own party - without pity. He mocked Menendez every chance he could.
Every other Democrat was mild in their comments about Menendez. Not Fetterman. He was ruthless.
IIRC Denmark has said “no”...so that closes the discussion.
Of course we’re not gonna take it by force!
I think where Trump is headed is some kind of security agreement that keeps China out of this hemisphere. That is also his aim in Panama.
Maybe he has a better feel for the voters’ attitudes in PA than does Rat Party Headquarters...which thinks that PA is one of their wholly owned subsidiaries.
He’s smart enough to know that PA is a reddish-purple state and that unless the Republican candidate is a total loser POS, you can’t win a statewide race sounding like AOC or Elizabeth Warren.
The Philly cheat machine is not always enough to overcome all the rural areas that go 75-80% R.
His parents are old time Republicans. I think they have some influence over him. Trust him?? He says something sensible and you call him a snake. He’s been very forthcoming lately. Not a bad thing.
My take is that the man exudes reason rather than policy driven talking points
Except that Greenland is talking about becoming Independent from Denmark..
Fetterman may be the best evidence we have that shape-shifting lizard aliens live among us.
he was having problems adapting to an upgraded version of his bio-mechanical skin suit
Now the software updates are in place, and he’s thinking, talking and moving better.
That is a pretty good summary, FRiend.
My father ran in Massachusetts for a State Representative seat back in the Seventies as a Democrat.
He was no Democrat, he was a plankowner in Massachusetts Citizens for Limited Taxation, and was solidly conservative in all areas, socially, fiscally, philosophically, but...he knew he could never win running as a Republican.
So he ran as a Democrat. Ugh.
However, he found out that rule: You can never out-liberal a Liberal. People who are Left leaning will always vote for the real leftist candidate. And that is Massachusetts, although there are more conservatives here than people realize.
It is just that the Left has gamed the system so much, the only conservatives who could get elected are people like Charlie Baker or William Weld, and I dislike both of them, to put it mildly.
So I completely get that dynamic in Pennsylvania.
LOL, now I admit, those thoughts had entered my mind!
I didn’t know that.
