President-elect Donald Trump isn't ruling out using military force in an effort to gain control of Greenland and retake control of the Panama Canal.
During a Tuesday press conference, Trump was asked if he'd assure the world that he wouldn't use military or economic coercion to secure the sovereign territory and the vital waterway, respectively.
The president-elect in his response reinforced the critical economic importance that he sees in Greenland and the Panama Canal.
"I can't assure you," he said. "I'm not going to commit to that. It might be that you'll have to do something."
"We need Greenland for national security purposes," he continued. "People don't even know if Denmark has any legal right to it. But if they do, they should give it up."
Late last year, Trump spoke about possibly taking back control of the Panama Canal from Panama as well as his wish to secure Greenland from Denmark. He also floated buying Greenland in 2019.
Denmark has emphatically stated that Greenland isn't for sale.

If they have to right to it, make Greenland the 51st state!
Since Denmark is a member of NATO, Trump would effectively be going to war against NATO over a US invasion of Greenland. Then, we really would be on the same side as Putin.

NATO is not our friend. The treahcerous euros as always backstab the United States while letting the USA pick up the tab for defense. Bailing their a$$es out of two world wars and one cold war earned us no gratitude.

Trolling is one thing. Threatening military action against an ally by the president elect is another.
So if the USA takes Greenland, which is claimed by Denmark, a NATO country
Can NATO drop ATACMS on Washington DC?
You probably do realize two things:
1.). There is no good end from saying what you would do on a hypothetical regarding the use of military force. It is best to make aggressors think you might do everything from nothing to nuclear war. Why give them data points?
2.) Military action to take the Canal might well be a necessity in a time of war. If the ChiComs invaded Taiwan today, sunk any of our navy assets, and closed down the Panama Canal to delay passage of US warships, we would be fully justified in taking action to allow passage.
Panama is worthy of some thought.

Ships can go around or they can make a new canal through Nicaragua.
But if the US wants to have any say in what happens in the Arctic, Greenland is a must.
Else cede the Arctic to the Russians and the Chinese. Your choice.

People who spend much obsessing on this are either dumb-asses who swallow whole whatever comes out of the media controlled by the Left, or people who despise Trump and want to gin up anything that brings him down.
