Deceased President Jimmy Carter feuded with multiple presidents after he left office, including former President Bill Clinton.
Carter, who served as the 39th president of the United States and advocated for a "competent and compassionate" government, died at his home in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 100.
Over the course of his lifetime, Carter had a difficult relationship with the multiple presidents that followed his administration, including one incident with former President Bill Clinton when he celebrated a diplomatic achievement on CNN before first meeting with Clinton to share the news.
"Three months later, Mr. Clinton sent Mr. Carter to Haiti along with two other emissaries who together forced a military junta to surrender power and accept American troops," according to The New York Times. "But once again, when Mr. Carter returned to Washington he went on CNN before meeting Mr. Clinton for breakfast and a planned joint news conference. Mr. Clinton was furious and shouted. Mr. Carter shouted back."

I don’t like speaking ill of a dead person before they’re even in the ground; but I’ve had a feeling in recent days that history is going to have some issues with the ‘saintly’ aura around Carter.
Clinton got the last laugh on Carter he gave North Korea a reactor for umm lights.
Jimmy Carter was a POS when he was alive. The fact that he died does not change that.
That is how he viewed himself, not how others viewed him.
You would have needed a translator to understand what was said.
The Carter Center makes the Clinton Foundation look like amateurs. The corrupt grifters!!
It doesn’t change what happened in life. But a period of recognition and respect, if only for the profundity of death itself. seems to be a salutary practice for those of us left alive.
Was that when Clinton called Carter a “traitorous prick”?
Eeewww.
They should have both farted harder.
We’ve had issues with that aura here on FR since forever but this website isn’t a bunch of certified historians just conservatives who remember.
The hagiography currently surrounding Carter is quite amusing when you consider how detested he was when he lost to Reagan.
I’m referring to the people who write the books.
I don’t believe an historian can or will ever be completely unbiased. But I believe we will at least have honest ones again in the future.
Even before Carter double-crossed him on diplomatic missions, Clinton didn’t trust Carter; he felt that Carter’s dumping of thousands of boat people in Arkansas was a major reason he (Clinton) lost his first re-election bid in 1980.
Only if there're AI and I still won't trust them.
...because he was an arrogant little bitch.
You haven’t much faith in humanity, I guess.
When I think of President Carter, I think of giant swamp rabbits, bass fishing, Habitat for Humanity, and Billy Beer. As for his presidential competency, not so much!
Carter was an idiot. You can't say enough bad stuff about that fool. Till Obama and Biden came along, he was the dumbest president in history.
