Apple CEO Tim Cook has made a personal contribution of $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund. Cook, who Trump famously nicknamed “Tim Apple,” is the latest in a long line of tech lords bending the knee to Trump in hopes of currying favor with the new administration.
Axios reports that as the United States prepares for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, tech giants are making efforts to ensure they are noticed by the new administration. The latest to do so is Apple CEO Tim Cook, who has personally donated $1 million to the inauguration fund. Notably, the contribution comes from Cook’s own finances, and Apple itself will not be providing any funds.

Or in Tim’s case.....................
Too many apple products are made in China. Tim’s worried.
Reminds me of the toll booth scene in Blazing Saddles.
Sychophants.
With a net worth of $2.3 billion, he can afford it.
Far easier to just write the check than to put up with the BS he’d have to go thru getting Apple to make the donation.
My how the worm has turned.
Tim loves turning worms.....................
>>Reminds me of the toll booth scene in Blazing Saddles.
Brilliant connection.
Peanuts
What is Tim’s view on H1B and student visa scammers ? And what is his view on import tariffs on Chinese made products ?
He would have probably donated two million for Kamala. These last minute Republican supporters are not to be trusted.
Exhibit A, the late, great El Rushbo.
Exhibit B, me.
So, that was that sound I heard.
The wrong one, which is unfortunately identical to Musk's, or any of Trump's new cabinet picks.
No electable politician is serious about stopping mass legal immigration which is fatal because it makes assimilation impossible and thus balkanizes a Nation, while simultaneously diminishing the educational and career opportunities for native born citizens by artificially increasing tuition and suppressing wages.
Definitely. Ring kissing and then some.
Apple is under no threat of dropping its wokeness anytime soon, they’ve never faced a boycott for woke. Apple will remain woke.
This is only because of the election and ______nothing______ more.
Except in this instance, Apple is a huge promoter of wokeness unlike Jordan who never wanted to get involved in anything resembling politics and worked hard to remain neutral.
And conservatives keep purchasing Apple’s crap anyways despite the huge iMiddleFinger pointed right at us.
Okay, so what do you buy ?
Samsung/Android and Microsoft/AMD/Intel are identical to Apple in this respect ?
“Okay, so what do you buy?”
Linux. Actually, I don’t buy. I refuse to give any of them money as far as I am able to refuse. Linux is free to download and install.
I am not a woke subsidizer.
Here’s the thing. Conservatives do not have to rely on big tech anymore, little tech is alive, well, and super vibrant. And little tech is easy to use - at least on the software context.
Conservatives at this point are actively choosing to rely on big tech. You pretty much named them all - Apple, Google, and Microsoft are the primary WokeMasters here and the biggest targets to avoid. Don’t forget other software companies. Adobe is super woke, big game makers like EA are super woke.
On the hardware context, AMD is the least woke of those you named. However I suspect that they are moderately woke as well. AMD is what I have, I’ve gone as far as I can to not give woke any money.
Can you say you have gone as far as you can to not give woke any money or is your next reply going to be some sales pitch about how Apple is the savior of humanity?
Can you yourself go further to not subsidize woke?
Okay, you do realize that "Linux" is correctly called "GNU/Linux" since "Linux" specifically refers to just the kernel, which is not a complete OS in it self, right ?.
And the GNU (tooling, etc) part of the OS is from Richard Stallman who makes Tim Cook look like a Barry Goldwater/Ronald Reagan hybrid.
